Sick Bank Leave. 1The Board agrees to maintain a Sick Leave Bank (hereafter referred to as the Bank) for serious illness or disability. Any actively employed member sick days remaining in the Bank at the end of the bargaining unit one school year shall be carried over to the following school year. New employees shall be required to donate one (1) day, regardless of the number of days currently in the Bank. In the event the Bank reaches the level of thirty (30) days or below in any school year, then every employee shall be required to donate one (1) day from the days set forth in Section 14.1. K. The Association will meet or arbitrationconfer with Human Resources annually to confirm the balance of days in the Sick Leave Bank.
L. In the event an employee wishes to avail self of sick leave bank for bereavement, he/she may do so using up to three (3) full days consistent with sick leave bank policy.
M. In the event an employee wishes to avail self of sick leave bank for work related injury, he/she may do so using up to three (3) full days consistent with sick leave bank policy. If the bank's total number of accumulated days falls below five hundred (500), members shall when hired and may contribute one (1) day every successive year until the member has contributed a total of up to five (5) sick days, as deemed necessary by leave days to the Sick Leave Bank Committeeby giving written notice to the Superintendent on or before September 15 or January 15. If the number days in the Bank reach the maximum limit of four hundred and fifty (450) days, employees are no longer required, nor may they contribute to the Bank.
5d. The maximum number of days an employee may access from the Bank shall not exceed as many days necessary to reach the elimination period under the LTD policy. Any Procedure:
1. In the event of an extended serious illness which exhausts all of an employee’s accumulated sick day contributions made leave days, the employee may apply to the bank will be permanently deducted from the Member's sick day total (i.e., a member who donates five (5) days would have a Sick Leave Bank for additional sick leave cap of one hundred seventy-five (175) days permanently)days.
62. Any Sick Bank Upon application, the governing body, as set forth in Section (a), shall review the application and render a decision as to whether or not sick bank days shall be carried over granted and, if granted, to successive yearswhat extent. No grant of days will be allowed to exhaust the Bank unless the Bank has ten (10) or fewer days available at the time.
73. Sick Bank Use of sick bank days may only be drawn after an applicant has exhausted all accumulated or accrued sick days.
8. Sick Bank days may only be granted for the applicant's extended disability resulting from illness and/or accident.
9. The Sick Bank shall be administered by a Sick Bank Leave Committee consisting at full salary and the granting of five (5) WREA members, designated by the President or his designee. Decisions by the Committee require a majority vote (3).
10. Applications for benefits can be made by an active, contributing member of the Sick Bank. Applications must be in writing, and at least twenty (20) these days prior to the point at which shall not affect the employee's sick leave is exhausted. (For extenuating circumstances the twenty (20) day waiting period can be waived.) The application must be accompanied by a doctor's letter certifying the need for extended leave and estimating the number of days needed for recovery.
11. The Sick Bank Leave Committee cannot act without a physician's statement.
12. The initial grant ’s accumulation of sick leave by the Sick Bank Leave Committee cannot exceed twenty (20) days. Additional leave may be extended upon reconsideration of need by the Sick Bank Leave Committeedays in future years.
13. The decision of the above Sick Bank Leave Committee shall be final and binding upon the teachers, the Committee, and the Association with respect to the administration of the sick leave bank and shall not be subject to grievance or arbitration.

Sick Bank Leave. 1The Board agrees to maintain a Sick Leave Bank (hereafter referred to as the Bank) for serious illness or disability. Any actively employed member sick days remaining in the Bank at the end of the bargaining unit one school year shall be carried over to the following school year. New employees shall be required to donate one (1) day, regardless of the number of days currently in the Bank. In the event the Bank reaches the level of thirty (30) days or below in any school year, then every employee shall be required to donate one (1) day from the days set forth in Section 14.1. Employees will be notified within two (2) pay periods after the day has been donated. In the event that an employee does not have a sick day to donate, they will be required to contribute their first subsequent accrued sick day. To become eligible to request extended benefits from the Bank: • an employee must complete a Sick Bank Request Application; • donated one (1) day to the Bank; • an employee must complete one full year of service under this agreement; • exhausted all accrued sick leave under Section 14.1; • exhaust all personal leave • an employee must have had a minimum of ten (10) sick days accrued on June 30th of the prior contract year; • continue to be seriously ill or disabled five (5) work days beyond the exhaustion of sick leave; • present satisfactory evidence of serious illness or disability (excluding work- connected accident covered under district workers compensation); • and gain the approval of the Sick Leave Bank Committee. Applications for sick bank leave shall only be considered once in a three year period unless extenuating circumstances exist and are approved by this agreement is eligible for membership in this sick bank. WREA members will notify the Sick Bank Committee Committee. Approval or denial of sick bank made by October 1stthe Sick Bank committee is final and cannot be grieved by the employee or the Association. Any employee who continues to be seriously ill or disabled beyond the five (5) day work period and is found to be eligible for payment under this Section, will be paid from the first day of serious illness or within disability. The five (5) day delay before Bank eligibility shall not apply to those employees who begin the school year with forty (40) or more accrued days of sick leave. Employees may draw from the Sick Leave Bank in accordance with years of service under this Agreement. An employee may draw up to: ten (10) days for employees with 1-3 years of service, twenty (20) days for employees with 4 – 7 years of service, forty (40) days for employees with 8 - 10 years of service, and sixty (60) days with eleven (11) or more years of hire, that they want to contribute to service from the sick bank.
2Bank. Any contributing member of this sick bank is eligible to receive benefits.
3. Membership in this bank shall be voluntary. Each member shall make an initial non-returnable contribution of two The sixty (2) sick days.

Twice a year, upon request, the Association will be notified of the status of the Bank. Probationary employees under section 15.9 are not be subject to grievance or arbitrationeligible for the bank.

Sick Bank Leave. 1 The Board in cooperation with the Association shall establish a sick leave bank subject to the following guidelines:
A. Employees within their first year of continuous service or Sick Leave Bank enrollment may use a maximum of ten (10) sick bank days. Any actively employed Employees in their second year of continuous service or Sick Leave Bank enrollment may use a maximum of fifteen (15) sick bank days.
B. The Association President shall appoint three (3) members who will act as a Committee in all matters that concern the policies of the Sick Leave Bank. The Committee will have final administrative responsibility for the Bank.
C. To be a member of the bargaining unit covered by this agreement is eligible for Sick Leave Bank, employees must donate two (2) sick leave days the first year of membership in this and one (1) sick bank. WREA members will notify leave day thereafter per school year to the Sick Leave Bank Committee by October 1st15th. Membership in the Sick Leave Bank shall be voluntary and shall continue until the Committee is notified in writing that the employee has withdrawn from the Sick Leave Bank. If an employee decides to terminate their participation in the Sick Leave Bank, or within they must do so prior to October 15th. The days already donated by said employee shall remain in the Sick Leave Bank.
D. The employee may not withdraw days from the Sick Leave Bank until the employee's own accrued sick leave has been depleted, and the employee goes three (3) days without pay (to be deducted from paycheck number twenty-two (22)) and a written certificate of illness from a licensed physician has been received by the Committee. The Committee will then consider the application for withdrawal. An employee withdrawing sick leave days from the Bank will not have to replace these days except as a regular yearly contributing member of the Bank. Application for benefits must be made five (5) days priorto docked days unless the nature of the employee’s condition prevents timely application.
E. Withdrawals from the Sick Leave Bank may be made only for the remainder of the school term in which such withdrawal was commenced. However, no employee shall be permitted to withdraw more than sixty (60) days of hirein any school year from the Sick Leave Bank.
F. If the Sick Leave Bank becomes depleted during any given school year, that they want the Committee may request each contributing member to contribute donate one
(1) additional day to the sick bank.
