Sick leave may be used by employees actively at work during absence caused by a non- work related injury or illness, for medical, dental or vision care appointments, or during the waiting period for a work-related injury or illness. Sick leave may be used in any manner authorized by and consistent with federal and/or state law.

Sick Leave Utilization. Sick leave may be used by employees actively at work during absence caused by a non- work related injury or illness, for medical, dental or vision care appointments, or during the waiting period for a work-related injury or illness. In the case of medical, dental or vision care appointments, employees are required to notify their supervisor of such appointments at least 48 hours in advance, when possible, except in the case of emergency or last-minute appointments that open up for the employee. Sick leave may be used in any manner authorized by and consistent with federal and/or state law.
