Common use of Sick Time Clause in Contracts

Sick Time. (i) Any illness which causes an Employee to be absent from duty for a period of five (5) consecutive working days or less. (ii) Absence with pay due to illness shall be calculated on the basis of one (1) day for each month worked, to a maximum of twelve (12) working days each calendar year. Prorating will occur as per Article 2. (iii) If an Employee uses their total sick time allocation, the Employee is not eligible for further paid sick time for that year. Any further sick time taken during that year shall be regarded as Leave of Absence without pay. (iv) Sick time allocation applies only to days which an Employee would normally be scheduled to work.
