Special Maternity Leave and Sick Leave. 15.1 If the pregnancy of an employee terminates before the expected date of birth (other than by birth of a living child), or she suffers illness related to her pregnancy, and she is not then on maternity leave: 15.1.1 the employee is entitled to such period of unpaid leave (to be known as “special maternity leave”) as a medical practitioner certifies to be necessary before her return to work, or 15.1.2 the employee is entitled to such paid Xxxx Leave (either instead of or in addition to special maternity leave) as she is then entitled to and as a medical practitioner certifies to be necessary for her return to work
