Common use of Special maternity leave Clause in Contracts

Special maternity leave. 18.4.1 Where the pregnancy of an employee not on maternity leave terminates after 28 weeks gestation other than by birth of a living child or has a pregnancy related illness apart from those matters listed in sub-clause 18.3.5, then the employee may take unpaid special maternity leave of such periods as a registered medical practitioner certifies as necessary in a medical certificate.
