Extended leave may be available in accordance with FMLA for eligible employees to care for a military family member who is recovering from a serious illness or injury sustained in the line of duty. An employee on FMLA not exceeding twelve (12) weeks from date of first absence from work or, in the case of childbirth from the day of the mother’s temporary medical disability from childbirth has ended, shall be entitled to return to his/her original position with equivalent pay, benefits and other terms and conditions of employment.
