Approved Absence definition

Approved Absence means an absence from active service with an Affiliated Employer by reason of a vacation or leave of absence approved by the Affiliated Employer, any absence from active service with an Affiliated Employer while employment rights with the Affiliated Employer are protected by law and any other absence from active service with an Affiliated Employer which does not constitute a termination of employment with the Affiliated Employer under rules adopted by the Affiliated Employer and applied in a uniform and nondiscriminatory manner.

Approved Absence means an approved leave of absence (including active military service), short term and long term disability (including employees on workers' compensation).

Approved Absence shall have the meaning set forth in Section 6.3.1.

Examples of Approved Absence in a sentence

• As with any form of leave, periods of LWOP are requested using OPM Form 71, Request for Leave or Approved Absence, or TSA approved electronic version and must be recorded in the bargaining unit employee's time and attendance records.

• Members may be approved for reasonable leave time according to #POL-123 Managing Member Leave and Approved Absence stipulations below.

• Two (2) days of Approved Absence with Pay shall be allowed per year.

• Medical documentation relating to a bargaining unit employee or a bargaining unit employee's family member must not be attached to the bargaining unit employee's time and attendance records, including OPM Form 71, Request for Leave or Approved Absence, or TSA approved electronic version, and must not be included in the bargaining unit employee's Official Personnel Folder (OPF), eOPF, or locally maintained bargaining unit employee files, and will be maintained in a separate file.

• The bargaining unit employee will submit, on the first day back to duty, his/her leave request (OPM Form 71, Request for Leave or Approved Absence, or TSA approved electronic version) when requesting leave for the length of the absence.

More Definitions of Approved Absence

Approved Absence means (a) any period of absence from work (other than any such absence on account of a period of Disability), with the approval or direction of the Employer, for up to 12 months and, provided said Employee returns to work for the Employer at such time as the Employer may reasonably require, the Approved Absence may exceed such 12-month period but will not be in excess of 24 months, (b) any period of absence during which the Employee was in military service with the armed forces (including Coast Guard and Merchant Marine Service) if the Employee has reemployment rights under applicable laws and complies with the requirements of the law as to reemployment and is reemployed, and (c) any period of Disability, but (except as provided in the last paragraph of Section 5.5) not to exceed twelve months. An Approved Absence will be disregarded for the purpose of the Plan, and the Employee will be regarded as in the service of the Employer during any period of an Approved Absence.

Approved Absence means the absence of a child from a children detention school under section 202, 203, 204, 205 or 207, as the case may 25

Approved Absence means an Employee's approved leave of absence from employment because of military service, illness, disability, pregnancy, educational pursuits, service as a juror, or temporary employment with a government agency, or other leave of absence approved by the Company, Affiliated Company, or Non-affiliated Employer. An Approved Absence also includes any leave of absence in accordance with the requirements of the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993. The Company, Affiliated Company, or Non-affiliated Employer shall determine the first and last days of any Approved Absence.

Approved Absence means an Employee’s leave without pay for a specified period of time approved by a Participating Employer in advance and in writing, in accordance with an established leave policy that is applied in a uniform and nondiscriminatory manner to similarly situated Participants. Other unpaid leaves of absence shall be considered a Period of Severance under the Plan.

Approved Absence means an Absence approved by the Council in advance of the particular Market Day or Market Days in accordance with the terms and conditions of this Agreement including clause 51;

Approved Absence means an absence permitted in accordance with Subsection 53G-6-803(5).

Approved Absence means an Employee's leave without pay for a specified period of time on such terms and conditions and for such reasons as the Employer may determine in its sole discretion, which leave is approved by the Employer in advance and in writing.
