Temporary Service Credit. Whenever a nurse who has been serving 23 in a temporary position is appointed to a regular position in the bargaining unit in the 24 same department in which the temporary position was situated, and the regular 25 position is of the same or equivalent classification, one-half (1/2) of the time served in 26 that temporary position, up to but not more than three (3) months, shall be deducted 27 from the nurse's probationary period. In order to qualify pursuant to this Section, the 28 temporary service must have been continuous. The nurse shall be granted PTO 29 leave pursuant to Article 10 , Section 1 of this agreement based upon his/her date of 30 hire into a regular position in the bargaining unit. The intent of the parties is that 31 nurses serving a modified probationary period will receive a reduced PTO leave 32 accrual at the end of their reduced probationary period.
