Common use of Temporary Shift Change Clause in Contracts

Temporary Shift Change. (a) An employee who has a need to request a temporary shift change may make such request in writing, including the expected duration, to his or her supervisor. The employee’s request may be granted provided it does not adversely affect the productivity of the department. (b) An employee normally working an eight and one-half (8 ½) hour day who is granted a shift change shall work an eight and one-half (8 ½) hour workday regardless of the change in start time.

If a temporary shift change may make such request in writingis to occur, including the expected durationemployee shall be given at least twenty-four (24) hours notice prior to the commencement of his/her regularly scheduled shift, to his or her supervisor. The employee’s request may be granted provided it does not adversely affect the productivity of the departmentwhen practicable. (b) An employee normally working an eight and one-half (8 ½) hour day who is granted a shift change shall work an eight and one-half (8 ½) hour workday regardless of the change in start time.
