Temporary Vacancy. A vacancy in a position caused by the regularly assigned occupant being absent from duty (including on vacation but excluding pre-retirement vacation) or temporarily assigned to other duties.
Temporary Vacancy. A Temporary Vacancy is a vacancy that occurs as a result of a Full-Time employee or a Part-Time employee taking a leave of absence or being granted a leave.
Temporary Vacancy. A temporary vacancy shall be defined as a vacancy which is expected to last in excess of three (3) months as a result of an employees absence due to illness, injury, leave of absence including maternity/adoption/parental leave or time-specific contracts of three
Temporary Vacancy. (a) In the event of a temporary vacancy, due to the absence of a regular driver, such temporary vacancy shall be filled by a substitute bus driver. Temporary vacancies are deemed to be temporary as long as the regular driver is off the job, but is due or scheduled to report back to their regular run.
(b) Any mid day runs needing to be subbed for more than five (5) work days shall be offered for seniority bidding. When it is determined that the regular driver will not be returning to their run or runs, those runs will then be considered to be vacant, and will be filled as specified in Section 2 and 7 of this Article.
Temporary Vacancy. When a temporary vacancy is to be filled in a classification for which there is an existing eligibility list, the City shall attempt to make the temporary appointment from that list. Provided there are City employee applicants meeting the minimum qualifications, temporary vacancies of greater than 90 days shall be filled by existing City of Berkeley employees from existing eligibility and/or transfer lists except as otherwise provided in Section 52 (Layoff). When the employee completes the temporary appointment, the employee would then return to his/her former classification at the appropriate pay level. The employee shall suffer no loss of seniority in his/her classification as a result of filling a temporary vacancy. The City does not guarantee a permanent promotion to the employee working in a temporary appointment. Employees shall indicate availability for temporary appointments on an employment application. Employees may update their existing application forms to indicate their availability for future temporary appointments.
Temporary Vacancy. As per Article 8.03 of the full-time section of this Agreement.
Temporary Vacancy. In the event of a vacancy resulting from the absence of a full-time employee for thirty (30) calendar days or more, or the expected absence of a full-time employee for a period of greater than thirty (30) calendar days, the Employer shall post such vacancy as a “temporary full-time position” as per Article
8.01. The incumbent shall receive the start rate of the full-time classification or whatever level on the scale that would provide such employee an increase and, in any event, and as the case may be, such employee shall not receive less increase thereafter than they would have received if such employee would have remained part-time employee. Upon return of the full-time employee or termination of the latest, the temporary employee will revert back to their former position and status.
Temporary Vacancy. .1 Temporary vacancy shall be defined as a vacancy which can be definitely determined to be available for a period of at least twenty (20) working days but less than one (1) semester as a result of a leave of absence without pay, termination, or retirement. Notice of termination or layoff per Article 13 does not apply to persons filling temporary vacancies.
.2 Such vacancies shall be filled by:
Temporary Vacancy. Whenever a temporary vacancy occurs, the District shall apply the criteria set forth in Section 18.3 in filling the position.
Temporary Vacancy. Any employee who fills a temporary vacancy shall, on its termination, revert to his former occupation. Notwithstanding the immediately preceding sentence, an employee who fills a temporary vacancy shall at his option, on its termination exercise his seniority and displace the employee within his respective first-line supervisor’s group (second line supervisor’s group for maintenance departments) who has the least seniority and who occupies the same occupation on a temporary basis. Such employee who is displaced shall revert to his former occupation.
