TRAVEL TIME AND DELAY STUDY. The ENGINEER shall conduct travel time and delay studies for designated locations to evaluate existing levels of service and to make recommendations for improving traffic flow/operations. The study will contain the following:  Perform a series of test vehicle runs through the section of roadway to obtain representative travel times. The floating car or average speed techniques (or both) may be used to obtain travel time.  Perform the moving-vehicle method of volume counting to obtain travel times by following test vehicle procedures and computing the results.  Perform the license plate method by stationing one or more observers at each entrance and exit of the study section to record the time and license number of each vehicle as it passes the observation point.  Perform the direct observation and timing method if the observer can see both the entrance and exit points.  Perform the interview technique method. The floating car or average speed techniques (or both) may be used to obtain travel time. • Perform the floating-vehicle method of volume counting to obtain travel times by following test vehicle procedures and computing the results. • Perform the license plate method by stationing one or more observers at each entrance and exit of the study section to record the time and license number of each vehicle as it passes the observation point. • Perform various forms of analysis on Bluetooth, GPS, or other passive data gathering methods to determine travel time, delay times, and/or operational performance of the transportation system. • Perform the direct observation and timing method if the observer can see both the entrance and exit points. • Perform the interview technique method.

  • Travel time allowance All employees shall be paid an allowance (See Appendix A) for each day on which they present themselves for work. The allowance shall also be paid for rostered days off.

  • Work Day and Work Week The normal work day shall consist of up to 8 hours of work within a 24-hour period. The normal work week shall consist of up to 40 hours of work within a 7-day period. The Employer may define the work week on an individual, department, shift or facility basis in accordance with Federal and State law.

  • Work Week The work week will begin at 12:00 a.m. on Sunday and end at 11:59 p.m. the following Saturday.

  • Hours Worked For the purpose of computing the number of hours worked, all time during which an employee is in paid status shall be construed as hours worked.

  • Workday and Workweek The regular workweek of a full-time employee in the bargaining unit shall be forty (40) hours and shall consist of five (5) consecutive days of eight (8) hours per day.

  • Training Allowance Operators who are required by the Employer to provide training to a specified level and to certify to the competency of the employees so trained shall receive twelve dollars ($12) per day while training. In such cases, the most senior qualified operator with the capability to provide training in the required class of equipment shall be given the opportunity to provide such training.

  • Standard Work Week The standard work week for full-time employees covered by this Agreement shall be forty (40) hours, exclusive of the time allotted for meal periods, consisting of five (5) consecutive work days followed by two (2) consecutive days off. The week shall commence with the shift that includes 12:01 A.M. Sunday of each calendar week and end at the start of the shift that includes 12:00 midnight the following Saturday. The Employer retains the right to modify the work schedules to meet operational needs.

  • Modified Work Week Where Employees in a unit have indicated a desire to work a modified work week, the Employer may authorize experiments with modified work week schedule, providing operational requirements permit and the provision of services are not adversely affected. The averaging period for a modified work week shall not exceed three (3) calendar weeks, and the work day shall not exceed ten (10) hours .

  • Travel Time Leave provided in paragraphs A and B of this Article shall apply to and cover actual and necessary travel to and from such meetings required during normal working hours on the day of the meeting or negotiations, except that MSEA-SEIU bargaining team members traveling 100 miles or more to negotiations shall be entitled to travel time outside of days of negotiations.

  • Holidays Worked When an employee works on a calendar holiday, he/she shall receive payment of the holiday at the regular rate and in addition, at the discretion of the Employer, (1) be paid at the rate of time and one half for hours actually worked on the holiday or (2) be given compensatory time off equal to one and one half the number of hours actually worked.
