Common use of Trial Period on Promotions and Transfers Clause in Contracts

Trial Period on Promotions and Transfers. Promotions and transfers shall be made on the basis of the first two (2) calendar months being a trial period. Conditional on satisfactory service, the regular employee shall be declared permanent after the period of two (2) months. In the event the successful applicant or the Board does not feel that the regular employee is proving satisfactory, then the employee shall be returned to the employee's former (or an equivalent) position, wage or salary rate and without loss of seniority. An employee's trial period may be extended by mutual agreement between the employee and the employer if it is felt more time is needed to meet the requirements of the position. Any other employee promoted or transferred because of the rearrangement of positions shall also be returned to his former (or equivalent) position, wage or salary rate, without loss of seniority. An employee will be given at least three (3) working days notice before the transfer or reassignment commences.
