Tuition Assistance Programs. (a) The Employer encourages Employees to take courses of instruction, particularly those for university credit and those which are directly related to their work. (b) The Tuition Assistance program is a benefit provided by the Employer. All Employees may participate in this program, as it exists from time to time. (c) Employees are normally expected to take courses outside regular working hours. However they may, with the consent of their Supervisor, which shall not be unreasonably withheld, take McMaster courses approved for tuition assistance during working hours. In such cases, one hour per week can be on University time with the individual being required to make up the balance of any time lost.
