Benefit Improvements. The Parties agree to make adjustments to the health and welfare benefits of the institutions included in this Agreement effective the first day of the month following ratification:

During the term of the Agreement the Union may choose to select benefit program improvements of 25 and out and/or E-2 offered by MERS with the full differential cost paid by the employee via payroll withholding. It is agreed by and between the parties that, should the City take any action to improve benefits for employees not covered by the City, including, but not limited to, the subjects contained in this Agreement, then those improvements will automatically be extended to the employees covered by this Agreement, at such time those improvements become effective for other City employees.
Benefit Improvements. In recognition of the continuing health and welfare benefit efficiency savings achieved following the 1995/96 Framework Agreement and as a result of PSEA and union initiatives, the following benefits will be changed during the life of this agreement:
(a) Employer Paid Premiums All health and welfare benefits that are currently co-insured at Selkirk College will be employer paid (not including employee-paid LTD) effective January 1, 1999.

(i) The Rx05 Managed Drug Formulary will be implemented. Diagnostic equipment & extension devices will be provided on the same basis as now available through the drug plan, but separate from the drug plan. It is expressly understood that lifestyle drugs are excluded.
(ii) The parties agree to an appeal process.
(d) Subject to the ability of the Employer’s benefit administrator to provide:
(i) Include dental implants as an option on major restorative coverage
(ii) No prescription required for Registered Massage Therapist
(iii) Include Licensed Social Worker as paramedical practitioner
(e) Subject to benefit administrator agreeing to change, the Employer agrees, effective July 1, 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter, to:
a. Increase the hearing aid benefit to 75% of cost to a maximum of $1,000 per person per ear once every three (3) years; and
b. Increase to $100 every two (2) years for the basic eye examination. Fundus photography is an eligible expense under this provision of the benefit plan.
c. Doctor’s referral no longer necessary for ambulance services that are medically necessary. (Per current plan design, non-emergent services continue to be ineligible.)
Benefit Improvements. During the term of the Agreement the ICEA may choose to select conventional MERS benefit program improvements offered by MERS [excluding early out options or improvements authorizing regular retirement prior to age fifty-five (55)] with the full differential cost paid by the employee via payroll withholding. If selected, the County will implement, provided sixty (60) days' notice is given before the effective date, and provided the total employee contributions, including the actuarial determined cost of the proposed new plans, will not exceed 10%. If the current employee contribution exceeds 10%, no benefit plan improvements shall be added until such time as the new plans can be added and the total employee contributions will be at or below 10%.
