Common use of UNAUTHORIZED ABSENCE FROM WORK Clause in Contracts

UNAUTHORIZED ABSENCE FROM WORK. An employee who has been pre-scheduled and who fails to report for duty for one (1) work day without informing the Employer of the reason for his/her absence will be presumed to have abandoned his/her position. An employee shall be afforded the opportunity to rebut such presumption and demonstrate that there were reasonable grounds for not having informed the Employer.

UNAUTHORIZED ABSENCE FROM WORK. An employee who has been pre-scheduled and who fails to report for duty for one three (13) consecutive work day days without informing the Employer of the reason for his/her absence will be presumed to have abandoned his/her position. An employee shall be afforded the opportunity to rebut such presumption and demonstrate that there were reasonable grounds for not having informed the Employer.
