Common use of UNAUTHORIZED ABSENCE FROM WORK Clause in Contracts

UNAUTHORIZED ABSENCE FROM WORK. An employee who has been pre-scheduled and who fails to report for duty for one (1) work day without informing the Employer of the reason for his/her absence will be presumed to have abandoned his/her position. An employee shall be afforded the opportunity to rebut such presumption and demonstrate that there were reasonable grounds for not having informed the Employer.
