Common use of Uniforms and Clothing Allowance Clause in Contracts

Uniforms and Clothing Allowance. The Board agrees to provide the uniforms or uniform allowance as listed below: A. School Way Café Employee: School Way Café employees will be fitted for uniforms within the first thirty (30) days of returning to work for the new school year or at the end of the previous year. The Board will offer an alternative to School Way Café employees to select a pair of pre-approved uniform shoes in lieu of uniform pants. Utilization of a non-uniform pant by said employee shall comply with standards established by the School Way Café director. SWC will receive up to a $50.00 reimbursement for shoes. Receipt must be provided. B. Bus Operators & Attendants The Board shall supply uniforms from the approved catalog not to exceed $140 in value every year for each bus operator and attendant. Each bus operator and attendant with one (1) year of service as of December 1 will receive an annual allowance of $75.00 for the purchase of approved shoes. C. Uniforms for Transportation Mechanics, Maintenance Mechanics, and Helpers The Board shall supply uniforms, eleven (11) shirts and eleven (11) pants every two (2) weeks for each non-probationary employee. Each non-probationary employee with one (1) year of service will receive an annual allowance of $75.00 for the purchase of approved safety shoes. D. Warehouse Employees 1. Non-probationary warehousemen and deliverymen will have the equivalent of eleven (11) shirts and eleven (11) pants available to them every two (2) weeks. 2. Non-probationary freezer workers and drivers and helpers of freezer trucks will have insulated jackets, insulated gloves and insulated boots available to them. E. Coveralls shall be made available in all shops in the Maintenance and Transportation Departments. F. Campus Advisors Campus advisors will receive five (5) school shirts per contract year. Campus advisors will also be provided a jacket. The jacket will be replaced every two (2) years, if necessary. G. Employees issued uniforms by the board are required to wear those uniforms while on duty.
