Common use of UNION COMMITTEE STEWARDS Clause in Contracts

UNION COMMITTEE STEWARDS. It is mutually agreed that where negotiations are con- ducted on a joint basis between any or all of the nursing homes in the Royalcrest Lifecare Group Inc. chain in the Province of Ontario, the Union will elect or otherwise select a negotiating committee consisting of one representative from each nursing home. If negotiations are carried on individually for any or all of the nursing homes the Royalcrest Lifecare Group Inc. chain in the Province of Ontario, it is agreed that the Union will elect or otherwise select a negotiating committee consisting of three (3) employees, one (1) of which shall be the Chief Xxxxxxx. All members of the committee shall be regular employees of the Employer who have completed their probationary period. The nursing home members of the Committee will be paid by the Employer for time used during normally scheduled working hours in negotiation of this Agreement or its successor including all conciliation proceedings but excluding any Arbitration proceedings. The Employer will recognize a Union Administrative Committee which shall consist of a Chief Xxxxxxx and three (3) stewards at each nursing home all selected from the members of the bargaining unit, not more than two (2) of which committee members shall meet with the Employer at any one time. The Employer shall be advised of the names of members of this committee and shall be notified of any changes from time to time. All members of the committee shall be full-time employees of the Employer who have completed their probationary period. The Union acknowledges that the members of the Union Administrative Committee must continue to perform their regular duties, and that so far as possible all activities of the committee be carried on outside the regular working hours of the members thereof, unless otherwise mutually arranged.

The Union shall advise the Province Management of Ontariothe personnel serving on these Committees and also the names of the Stewards. LUSI will recognize a Negotiating Committee comprised of five (5) union representatives as follows: 1 – CUPE National Representative 1 – Local CUPE Executive Representative (President/Vice-President) 1 – Representative each from Electric, Water and Office for a 2-day period. If negotiations continue beyond the second day, the Union will elect or otherwise select a negotiating committee consisting of one representative from each nursing home. If negotiations are carried on individually for any or all incur the cost of the nursing homes the Royalcrest Lifecare Group Inc. chain in the Province of Ontario4th local representative, it is agreed or choose to have one less committee member. 19.2 The Union acknowledges that the Union will elect or otherwise select a negotiating committee consisting of three (3) employeesStewards, one (1) of which shall be the Chief Xxxxxxx. All members of the committee shall be regular employees of the Employer who have completed their probationary period. The nursing home members of the Committee will and Union Officers have regular duties to perform on behalf of LUSI. Such persons shall not leave their regular duties without receiving permission from their Supervisor and such permission shall not be paid by unreasonably withheld. When resuming their regular duties they shall report to their Supervisor. It is clearly understood that Stewards and other Union Officials shall not absent themselves from their regular duties unreasonably in order to deal with the Employer grievances of employees up to but not including arbitration. In accordance with this, the Management shall not make any pay deduction from such employees for the time used during normally scheduled spent in handling grievances and meetings with Management. This does not apply to the time spent on such matters outside regular working hours hours. 19.3 Notwithstanding the above, it is understood in negotiation of this Agreement or its successor including all conciliation proceedings but excluding any Arbitration proceedings. The Employer will recognize a Union Administrative Committee which shall consist the absence of a Chief Xxxxxxx and three (3) stewards at each nursing home all selected from the members of the bargaining unitwater, not more than two (2) of which committee members shall meet with the Employer at any one time. The Employer shall be advised of the names of members of this committee and shall be notified of any changes from time to time. All members of the committee shall be full-time employees of the Employer who have completed their probationary period. The Union acknowledges that the members of electric and/or office representative, the Union Administrative Committee must continue to perform their regular duties, and that so far as possible all activities of the committee be carried on outside the regular working hours of the members thereof, unless otherwise mutually arrangedshall appoint or elect a replacement representative.
