STEWARDS AND COMMITTEES. Section 4.01 The Company shall recognize a total of five (5) Stewards designated by the Union to represent various departments in the plant. In the event a continuous shift is instituted, up to two additional Stewards will be recognized. The Company shall be notified of the names of persons so selected prior to the Stewards assuming their duties. Should the total number of bargaining unit employees exceed ninety (90), the Union reserves the ability to appoint up to an additional two (2) Stewards.
Section 4.02 The Grievance Committee shall be made up of the President of the Local, the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ originating the grievance and the Chief ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.
Section 4.03 It is agreed that the Stewards have regular duties to perform and that Stewards will not leave their work without permission from their Supervisors. In accordance with this understanding the Company agrees to compensate Stewards for reasonable time lost from regularly scheduled work to handle grievances in their respective departments. The aggrieved employee may request an available ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ of the employee’s choice, within the employee’s department. When there is no ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ available within the department, the aggrieved employee may request a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ who is available from some other department in the plant. When functioning as a part of the afore-outlined Grievance Committee such persons will be compensated at their straight time hourly rate while attending such scheduled grievance meetings with the Company. Departments, as it applies to this section, are two (2) areas; Making and Maintenance.
Section 4.04 Each January 1, the Union will supply a list of all Stewards, Chief Stewards, President and all other posts with the Union in writing to the Human Resources Manager. The Company will also be notified of any change to the aforementioned list at the time of the change. The Company will only recognize the individuals on this list as Union Officials.
Section 4.05 It is agreed that the Union President will be assigned to the day shift and will be provided reasonable time to conduct Union affairs. Should the assignment of Union President to the day shift result in other employees being denied full shift rotation, then the Union

STEWARDS AND COMMITTEES. 7:01 The Company agrees that the Union may appoint and the Company will recognize a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and Grievance Committee to consist of up to four employees one of whom shall be the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇. In the interests of sound relationship, the Union agrees that this Committee, to be completely representative of the working force within the bargaining unit, shall consist of employees of each department in the plant. 7:02 The Union recognizes and agrees that members of the Shop Committee have their regular duties to perform in connection with their employment and, therefore, the business of administering this Agreement will be attended to with the least possible interference with production.
7:03 The Employer agrees to pay not more than one (1) employee member of the bargaining committee for any time spent in regards to conducting negotiations for contract renewal.
7:04 On hiring, members shall be notified regarding the dues structure, lay-off recall procedure by the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.
STEWARDS AND COMMITTEES. 7.01 The Employer acknowledges the right of the Union to elect five (5) stewards plus the President. All stewards shall have completed their probationary period. The name and area of each of the stewards shall be given to the Employer in writing and the Employer shall not be required to recognize any such ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ until it has been so notified. In matters of discipline involving a written reprimand, suspension or dismissal, the Employer shall provide notification in writing of such discipline to the employee and the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.
7.02 The right of stewards and grievors to leave their work without loss of pay for the purpose of servicing grievances is granted on the following conditions:
(a) The time shall be devoted to prompt handling of Union/Management relations.
(b) It is agreed that Union stewards have their regular duties and responsibilities as a paramedic to perform and shall not leave their regular duties without first obtaining permission from the Manager, Emergency Services. The ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ shall report to their supervisor upon return.
(c) The Employer reserves the right to limit such time if it deems the time so taken to be excessive.
7.03 The Union shall have the right to have the assistance of a Staff Representative of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union and/or legal advisor when dealing with or negotiating with the Employer and similarly the Employer shall have the right to have the assistance of a legal advisor when dealing with or negotiating with the Union.
7.04 The Employer agrees to recognize a Negotiating Team consisting of three (3) members of the bargaining unit, comprised of the President plus two (2) members, as well as a Staff Representative of the Ontario Public Service Employees’ Union. The Union and/or the Employer may bring outside counsel to the table as required.
7.05 Labour Management Committee A Union-Management Cooperation Committee shall be established consisting of three (3) representatives of the Employer and three (3) representatives of the Union, one (1) shall be the Local President. The parties agree that any member may designate a temporary alternative to act in their absence. The committee shall enjoy the full support of both Parties in the interest of maximum service to the public.

The Union shall notify the Company in writing of the names of such stewards at the time of their appointment and the Company shall not be required to recognize any ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ until it has been so notified.
(b) The stewards shall be allowed necessary time off work without loss of pay for the purpose of processing grievances during working hours in the hotel, provided:
(c) They obtain prior consent from management,
(d) Such time off shall be of reasonable length and shall not unduly impair the efficient operations of the business.
(e) A ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or full-time representative of the Union upon request of permission from management shall be entitled to inspect and make copies of sign-in sheets or punch cards that relate to a specific grievance investigation. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld.
(f) The Employer shall grant leave of absence up to two (2) days, in total, with pay in every two calendar years to Stewards to attend training or conferences provided by the Union.

Where it’s necessary for a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ to investigate an employee’s grievance or complaint during working hours, the employee shall not be disturbed in the performance of his or her assigned duties unless the employee’s supervisor has given that employee permission to discuss the matter with the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld.
(d) Such time off shall be of reasonable length and shall not unduly impair the efficient operations of the business.

16.03 The Executive, Negotiating Committee, Grievance Committee, and Stewards will be designated in writing by the Federation to the Company.
16.04 Pay will not be allowed for time spent by any employees of the Company in respect of duties on behalf of the Federation, excepting that members of the Grievance Committee will not lose pay for time spent during the employee's regular scheduled working hours attending meetings with Management Representatives.
