Common use of Union Delegates Clause in Contracts

Union Delegates. A list of Union Delegates from the bargaining unit, elected in accordance with District and National Union by-laws, shall be provided to the Employer. Such Delegates shall be authorized to serve as the representative in Steps 1, 2 and 3 of the grievance procedure and Article 6.3 as provided in this Agreement. The parties acknowledge the general proposition that Union business performed by the Union Delegates, including the investigation of grievances, will be conducted during non- working hours (e.g., coffee breaks, lunch periods, and before and after shift).
