Union Dues and DRIVE. The Employer will deduct Union dues and initiation fees from those employees who have signed legal authorization cards authorizing such deductions and the Employer will remit such deducted Union dues and initiation fees to a duly authorized Officer of the Union after receiving a statement of amounts owing from the Union. The Employer agrees to deduct from the paycheck of all employees covered by this Agreement voluntary contributions to DRIVE. DRIVE shall notify the Employer of the amounts designated by each contributing employee that are to be deducted from his/her paycheck on a bi- weekly basis for all weeks worked. The phrase "weeks worked" excludes any week other than a week in which the employee earned a wage. The Employer shall transmit to DRIVE on a monthly basis in one check the total amount deducted along with the name of each employee on whose behalf a deduction is made, the employee's Social Security number and the amount deducted from the employee's paycheck.

  • Union Dues As a condition of employment, the Hospital will deduct from each employee covered by this Agreement an amount equal to the regular monthly union dues designated by the Union. Such dues shall be deducted from the first pay of each month for full-time employees, and may be deducted from every pay for part-time employees. In the case of newly hired employees, such deductions shall commence in the month following their date of hire. The amount of the regular monthly dues shall be those authorized by the Union and the Union shall notify the Hospital of any changes therein and such notification shall be the Hospital's conclusive authority to make the deductions specified. In consideration of the deducting of union dues by the Hospital, the Union agrees to indemnify and save harmless the Hospital against any claims or liabilities arising or resulting from the operation of this Article. Dues deducted by the 15th of the month shall be remitted monthly to the Union, no later than the end of the month in which the dues were deducted.

  • Union Delegates The Employer recognizes the right of the Union to designate Union Delegates who shall be authorized to take up employee or group grievances through the grievance procedure. A Union Delegate who is a bargaining unit employee and is processing a grievance in accordance with the grievance procedure shall be permitted a reasonable time to assist in the resolution of legitimate employee grievances on the Employer's property without loss of pay. Such time off for processing grievances shall be granted by supervision following a request, but in consideration of any job responsibilities.

  • Union Delegate 32.5 Where an Employee is elected by Employees of the Employer as a Union Delegate, and the Union notifies the Employer of this election, the Employee will be classified as the higher of CW4, or the Employees usual classification. In addition, a Union Delegate is entitled to an all- purpose hourly allowance for the life of this agreement as per the table at Appendix 2 – Delegate Allowance.

  • UNION XXXXXXX 9:01 The Union may appoint and the Employer shall recognize a Xxxxxxx for each shop, job or area. The Employer's General Manager shall be notified in writing of the name of the Xxxxxxx when the appointment becomes effective. The Xxxxxxx shall be recognized as the representative of the Union for the shop, job or area in which he/she is working and no discrimination shall be shown against the Xxxxxxx for carrying out his/her Union duties. The Xxxxxxx shall not be laid off, transferred or discharged by reason of executing his/her Union duties and responsibilities as a Xxxxxxx. To be eligible for appointment as a Xxxxxxx, the employee must have been in the employ of the Company for 12 consecutive months immediately prior to the appointment.

  • Construction Phase - Administration of the Construction Contract 1.6.1 The Construction Phase shall commence with the acceptance of the Construction Manager’s Guaranteed Maximum Price (or acceptance of a partial Guaranteed Maximum Price for a stage or phase) and issuance of a Notice to Proceed with Construction Services and terminate sixty (60) days after Final Payment to the Contractor is made, or when all of Architect/Engineer’s services have been satisfactorily performed, whichever occurs later.

  • CHECK-OFF UNION DUES 5.1 The Corporation shall, subject to the conditions and exceptions set forth hereunder, deduct on the payroll for the first pay period of each month from wages due and payable to each employee coming within the scope of this Collective Agreement, an amount equal to the prevailing monthly dues of the Union and shall remit the same by cheque (accompanied by a statement of deductions from individuals) to the Union Local Secretary- Treasurer, not later than twenty (20) days following the pay period in which the deductions are made.
