UNION XXXXXXX. 9:01 The Union may appoint and the Employer shall recognize a Xxxxxxx for each shop, job or area. The Employer's General Manager shall be notified in writing of the name of the Xxxxxxx when the appointment becomes effective. The Xxxxxxx shall be recognized as the representative of the Union for the shop, job or area in which he/she is working and no discrimination shall be shown against the Xxxxxxx for carrying out his/her Union duties. The Xxxxxxx shall not be laid off, transferred or discharged by reason of executing his/her Union duties and responsibilities as a Xxxxxxx. To be eligible for appointment as a Xxxxxxx, the employee must have been in the employ of the Company for 12 consecutive months immediately prior to the appointment.
9:02 The Xxxxxxx shall assist in adjusting differences which may arise out of the interpretation, application or alleged violation of this Collective Agreement subject to the provisions as laid out in the grievance procedure in Article 27. The Xxxxxxx shall be paid his/her regular rate of pay when executing his/her duties and responsibilities under this provision of the Collective Agreement, and only while the duties are within the Company premises or at a mutually agreed upon alternate location.
UNION XXXXXXX. The Xxxxxxx elected or appointed by the UNION.
UNION XXXXXXX. Employees selected by the Union to act as Union representatives shall be known as "Stewards". One Xxxxxxx shall be designated by the Union as the Chief Xxxxxxx. The names of the employees so selected (including the alternates designated to act in their absence) and those of other Union representatives authorized to represent employees will be certified in writing to the Employer by the local Union. The local Union will also certify, in writing, the names of the members, not to exceed three (3) in number, who will constitute the Union Committee for the purposes of Labor-Management meetings. This certification shall be updated at least semi-annually. The Union shall attempt to locate Stewards within each shift so as to ensure the most efficient performance of their responsibilities and the minimum interference with their regular job duties.
UNION XXXXXXX. In case the Union Xxxxxxx is present for the discussion, then the immediate supervisor may have another supervisor with him/her when the discussion takes place.
UNION XXXXXXX. The union may designate employees in the bargaining unit to act as stewards and/or alternates and shall inform the employer in writing of such choices and changes in the positions of stewards and/or alternates. Stewards shall be permitted reasonable time to perform and discharge the duties that are properly assigned to them under terms of this AGREEMENT. The stewards shall be permitted reasonable time to process grievances without loss of time or pay during regular working hours. Stewards shall be allowed reasonable time to transmit messages which have originated with and are authorized by the union so long as the transmission of said messages does not interfere with their regular work assignment.
UNION XXXXXXX. The Xxxxxxx may assist any Employee which the Xxxxxxx represents, in preparing and presenting his grievance in accordance with the grievance procedure.
UNION XXXXXXX. Union Xxxxxxx is retained in their classification by seniority, otherwise as a general in their department/shift.
UNION XXXXXXX. The Union, upon written notification to the School District, may designate two (2) secretarial employees within the bargaining unit to serve as Xxxxxxx. At the discretion of the School District, the Xxxxxxx shall be afforded reasonable time off for the purposes of conducting the business of the Union.
UNION XXXXXXX. Recognition of Union Xxxxxxx: The union will designate and the Company will recognize one (1) Primary Union Xxxxxxx and one (1) Alternate from the employee seniority list. The Company shall not be required to recognize any employee as a Union Xxxxxxx unless the Union has informed the Company, in writing, of the employee's name. The Union may remove a Xxxxxxx at any time in keeping with its right of designating stewards.
