Union Delegates. The Employer recognizes the right of the Union to designate Union Delegates who shall be authorized to take up employee or group grievances through the grievance procedure. A Union Delegate who is a bargaining unit employee and is processing a grievance in accordance with the grievance procedure shall be permitted a reasonable time to assist in the resolution of legitimate employee grievances on the Employer's property without loss of pay. Such time off for processing grievances shall be granted by supervision following a request, but in consideration of any job responsibilities.

Union Delegates. A list of Union Delegates from the bargaining unit, elected in accordance with District and National Union by-laws, shall be provided to the Employer. Such Delegates shall be authorized to serve as the representative in Steps 1, 2 and 3 of the grievance procedure and Article 6.3 as provided in this Agreement. The parties acknowledge the general proposition that Union business performed by the Union Delegates, including the investigation of grievances, will be conducted during non-working hours (e.g., coffee breaks, lunch periods, and before and after shift). Union Delegates. A. The Union shall prevail upon all employees in the bargaining units and especially Union delegates to make a diligent and serious attempt to resolve complaints at the lowest possible level. The Employer, likewise, shall prevail upon its supervisory personnel to cooperate fully with the Union delegates and other Union representatives in the speedy resolution of any grievances that may arise. Delegates will normally process grievances only in their own units. The Union shall annually submit an up-to-date list to the Office of Labor Relations indicating the names of all Union delegates, their work locations and jurisdiction. Union Delegates. All UNION delegates shall be provided with one additional forty-minute or the length of a class period, whichever is longer, duty-free period per month during which time they shall conduct UNION business, including, but not limited to, the investigation of professional problems and grievances, development of Professional Problems Committee agendas, distribution of bona fide Union materials and maintenance of the UNION bulletin board. UNION delegates shall be permitted to combine their monthly duty-free periods to be released to attend UNION-conducted training and professional development. In addition, city- wide delegates shall be provided with two forty-minute periods each school year, one per each city-wide in-service day, during which time they shall be allowed to conduct Union business.

Union Delegates. Union delegates and job representatives have a role to play within a workplace. The existence of accredited Union delegates and/or job representatives is encouraged. Council shall not unnecessarily hinder accredited Union delegates and/or job representatives in the reasonable and responsible performance of their duties.
Union Delegates. 46.1 The employer recognises the right of all employees to join a union, to access meaningful union representation, to participate collectively in workplace issues, and to collectively bargain through their union. 46.2 The employer will recognise one delegate from the XXX New South Wales Branch and one delegate from the New South Wales Nurses and Midwives’ Association in each workplace, upon receipt of written notification from each of the respective Unions. 46.3 A delegate will be released from work to attend union business in accordance with the following: (a) up to 5 days per calendar year to attend training facilitated by the Union to increase awareness and knowledge of workplace issues and/or consultative mechanisms and/or statutory entitlements and obligations, which will contribute to a more productive, aware and harmonious workplace environment; (b) up to 3 days leave to attend either: The New South Wales Nurses and Midwives’ Association Annual Conference; or the XXX New South Wales Branch Annual Conference; (c) a minimum of 4 weeks’ written notice, or less by agreement, must be provided to the employer of a request to attend such union business. The notice must specify the time and nature of the union business; and (d) subject to operational requirements an employer shall not unreasonably refuse such a request. 46.4 A delegate may access leave without pay, Annual Leave or Long Service Leave, for the purposes of attending such training. 46.5 A delegate will be provided with reasonable access to telephone, internet, email, facsimile, photocopying, notice boards and meeting facilities (where available) for the purpose of carrying out work as a delegate. Union Delegates. ‌ 74.1 Union delegates and job representatives from the workplace have a role to play within a workplace. That role is not to co-manage or hinder the efficient operation of the workplace. 74.2 The Company shall not unreasonably hinder accredited Union delegates and/or job representatives in the reasonable and responsible performance of their duties. The role of Union delegates and job representatives is secondary to the job they are employed to perform. 74.3 Employees will be given full access to Union delegates and other job representatives during working hours to discuss any employment matter provided that work requirements are not unreasonably affected. 74.4 Provided that service delivery and work requirements are not unduly affected, delegates and job representatives will be provided reasonable access to facilities for the purpose of undertaking representative activities. Such facilities may include: telephone, computers, email, photocopiers, facsimile machines, storage facilities, meeting rooms and notice boards. The Company and delegates will take a reasonable approach to the responsible use of such facilities for information and communication purposes and the use of such facilities will not be abused. 74.5 The Company will approve time off without loss of pay for ordinary hours for employees who are elected (honorary) officials of unions to attend a reasonable number of union executive meetings, divisional meetings, State Council meetings and annual/bi-annual conferences of their union. These are to be based on schedules agreed to between the Company and the respective Union. Such paid arrangements will not include travelling time. 74.6 Relevant union delegates will be advised of intended induction sessions and provided with opportunities to discuss union membership with new employees at the session.
