CHECK-OFF UNION DUES. 6.01 The Corporation shall deduct from every employee any dues, initiations, or assessments as are uniformly levied in accordance with the Union constitution and/or bylaws and owing by him to the Union. 6.02 Deductions shall be made from each pay and shall be forwarded to the Union not later than the 15th day of the month following and, accompanied by a duplicate list of names of all employees from whose wages the deductions have been made.

CHECK-OFF UNION DUES. 5.1 The Corporation shall, subject to the conditions and exceptions set forth hereunder, deduct on the payroll for the first pay period of each month from wages due and payable to each employee coming within the scope of this Collective Agreement, an amount equal to the prevailing monthly dues of the Union and shall remit the same by cheque (accompanied by a statement of deductions from individuals) to the Union Local Secretary- Treasurer, not later than twenty (20) days following the pay period in which the deductions are made. 5.2 The amount to be deducted shall be equivalent to the prevailing regular dues payment to the Union and shall not include initiation fees or special assessments. The amount to be deducted shall not be changed during the term of the Agreement excepting to conform with a change in the amount of regular dues of the Union in accordance with its constitutional provisions. The provisions of this Article shall be applicable to the Union on receipt by the Corporation of notice in writing from the Union of the amount of regular monthly dues. 5.3 Deductions shall commence on the payroll for the first pay period of the calendar month following completion of thirty (30) calendar days after date of first service in a position subject to this Agreement. 5.4 If the wages of an employee payable on the payroll for the first pay period of any month are insufficient to permit the deductions of the full amount of dues, no such deduction shall be made from the wages of such employee by the Corporation in such month. The Corporation shall not, because the employee did not have sufficient wages payable to him on the designated payroll, carry forward and deduct from any subsequent wages the dues not deducted in an earlier month. 5.5 It is understood and agreed that deductions for income tax, unemployment insurance, contributions in accordance with the SLSMC Private Pension Plan, the Public Superannuation Act and the Canada or Quebec Pension Plans shall be made from wages prior to the deduction of dues. 5.6 The Corporation shall not be responsible financially or otherwise, either to the Union or to an employee for any failure to make deductions or for making improper or inaccurate deductions or remittances. However, in any instance in which an error occurs in the amount of any deduction of dues from any employee's wages, the Corporation shall adjust it directly, with the employee. CHECK-OFF UNION DUES. The Employer agrees that it will make payroll deductions for Union dues, from employees in the certified bargaining unit, upon receipt of a written assignment executed for that purpose by each employee. The Union recognizes and agrees that the Employer’s obligation to deduct Union dues is expressly restricted to making only such deductions as are permitted by law, by this Agreement, and by the valid assignment of each employee.

CHECK-OFF UNION DUES. 4.01 There shall be a compulsory check-off of union dues from all persons who are employees of the Region to which this Agreement applies. The amount to be deducted shall be such sum as may from time to time be assessed by the Union on its members according to its constitution and by-laws. The Region shall be notified in writing sixty (60) calendar days prior to any required change in deductible assessments. The employer agrees to pay to the union an amount equivalent to union dues (based on the applicable classification) for any temporary agency staff. Temporary employment agency staff can be utilized to a maximum of three (3) continuous months. 4.02 Such deductions will be made every pay day by the Region and shall be forwarded to the Treasurer of CUPE Local 1883 not later than the 15th day of the month following the month in which deductions were made, accompanied by a list of all employees in electronic or paper format (at the union’s discretion) from whose wages the deductions have been made, and indicating the hours worked for each reported employee. The listing will also identify employees who are on leave of absence. A copy of the list shall be sent to the national headquarters of the Canadian Union of Public Employees. For new employees such deductions shall commence in the first full bi-weekly pay period immediately following the date on which the employee is hired. The amount deducted shall not include special assessment or levies of any kind. 4.03 It is understood that refusal by the Union to accept an employee as a member or to continue an employee’s membership or refusal of an employee to join or continue membership in the Union will not be cause for dismissal by the Region. 4.04 The Union shall indemnify and save the Region harmless with respect to all dues so deducted and remitted. 4.05 Deductions will not be made from any employee’s bi-weekly pay cheque either immediately or retroactively unless the employee receives at least one (1) normal day’s pay in the pay period. 4.06 The Region will include the amount of union dues deducted from employees, on the T-4 Slips.
CHECK-OFF UNION DUES. 4.01 a) The Employer hereby agrees that, as a condition of employment, for all its employees covered by the Bargaining Unit, to deduct Union dues of the equivalent thereof commencing with the employee's first pay period and to remit such sums of money to the Financial Secretary of the Local not later than the tenth (10th) day of the following month. When submitting the monthly Union dues the Employer shall also submit an alphabetical listing of the names of each employee on behalf of whom the deductions were made, the amount deducted on behalf of each employee and information upon which such deductions were made. The Employer also agrees to deduct the Union initiation fee from the employee’s first pay period. 4.01 b) The Union agrees to indemnify and save the Corporation harmless from any claims arising out of deductions made in accordance with clause 4.01 (a) above.

The transfer shall be accompanied by a list of names from whose wages the deductions have been made. 5.03 At the same time that Income Tax (T4) slips are made available, the Employer shall provide the amount of Union dues paid by each Union member in the previous year.

The Union shall advise the Employer, in writing, of the amount of monies to be deducted, and of any changes that may occur from time to time. 6.02 Deductions shall be made from each pay, and shall be forwarded to the Secretary/Treasurer of the CUPE Local 5167 at the address stipulated in writing by the Union, not later than the 15th day of the month following, accompanied by a list of names, addresses and phone numbers of all Employees from whose wages the deductions have been made. 6.03 The Union agrees to save the Employer harmless with respect to all deductions and remittances made from Employees’ pay as provided in this article.
CHECK-OFF UNION DUES. 5.01 The Employer shall deduct from every employee covered by this Agreement, any monthly dues, initiation fees or assessment levied in accordance with the Union constitution and/or by-laws, and which are owed to the Union. 5.02 The Union shall provide the Board with a schedule of dues for each class of Employee as soon as these are available. Deductions shall be made from each pay period of each month and shall be forwarded to the Secretary-Treasurer of the Union not later than the 15th day of the month following, accompanied by a list of names and addresses of all employees from whose wages the deductions have been made, together with the amount deducted from each and the total amount of said deductions and the total of regular earnings of the unit.
