Union Dues Deductions. A. The City shall deduct bi-weekly dues from the pay of employees in the bargaining unit covered by this Agreement upon receipt from the Union of individual written authorization cards executed by an employee for that purpose and bearing his signature. Amount of biweekly dues shall be certified to the City by the Union. Any employee who has submitted a dues checkoff authorization card may withdraw or revoke the same at the same time and in the manner specified on the dues checkoff authorization card signed by the employee or as amended by the Union if the amendment specifies a shorter revocation period than one fifteen (15) day period tied to the end of the collective bargaining agreement. Copies of employee’s dues authorization cards are available from the Union upon request. B. All deductions under Paragraph A of this Article, accompanied by an alphabetical list of names and addresses of all employees by local union whose fees and/or dues have been deducted, shall be transmitted to the Controller of Ohio Council 8 at 0000 Xxxxx Xxxx Xxxxxx, Xxxxxxxxxxx, Xxxx 00000-0000, on the fifth day following the end of the pay period in which the deduction is made. C. The Union will indemnify and save the City harmless from any action growing out of deductions hereunder commenced by an employee or anyone else against the City or the City and the Union jointly. X. Xxxxxxxxx who are members of the union may revoke their union membership at any time by sending written notice to the Union of their desire to drop their union membership. Revocation of union membership does not revoke union dues authorization, which may only be revoked as set forth above.
