Union Leave of Absence. An employee on an unpaid Union leave of absence shall have her wages, benefits and seniority continued by the Employer, and the Union agrees to reimburse the Employer for the costs of such wages and benefits. Union Leave of Absence. An Upon approval of the Division Manager, Human Resources, leave of absence, without pay, may be granted to employees to undertake full-time Union work as staff representatives or as elected officers to Manitoba, the Manitoba Federation of Labour, the National Executive of or any other affiliated labour organization, for any period not less than six or more than months and shall be automatically renewed on expiry for a like period from time to time unless either party signifies intention in writing of its desire to terminate said leave of absence in which case six months prior notice shall be given and the employee concerned may return to his or her position with Manitoba Hydro on termination of authorized leave. Such leave will not affect an unpaid employee's seniority. In the case of sick leave credits, when employees return to Manitoba Hydro, they shall be credited with the same amount of sick leave they had accumulated prior to their leave. Upon approval of the Division Manager, Human Resources, leave of absence with pay may be granted to employees to attend union schools, conferences, or conventions as official delegates: or to undertake full time but limited term Local Union work.
