Common use of Union Representatives and Grievance Committee Clause in Contracts

Union Representatives and Grievance Committee. ‌ 8.01 The University acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select up to one (1) Union Xxxxxxx for each thirty (30) employees from among employees who have completed their probationary period. 8.02 The Union will inform the University in writing of the names and positions of its Executive and of the names and areas of jurisdiction of its Union Stewards. 8.03 The University shall be informed, in writing by the Union, of the effective date and term of appointment of its Executive and Union Stewards. Persons so elected or appointed will be recognized by the University for purposes of this Article during their term. 8.04 The University shall recognize a Union Grievance Committee of not more than three (3) people selected by the Union. 8.05 It is understood that a Union Xxxxxxx or Committee person has regular work to perform and that if it is necessary to service a grievance or to attend a mutually agreed to meeting during working hours, they will not leave work without first obtaining the permission of their immediate supervisor which shall not be unreasonably withheld. They shall state their destination to their immediate supervisor and shall report again to their supervisor at the time of their return to work. 8.06 The Parties agree that there will be a joint Labour/Management Committee consisting of up to three (3) representatives from the University and up to three
