UNION SECURITY AND DUES CHECKOFF. 1. Such deductions for temporary employees will commence immediately and be reflected on the first pay, first pay following completion of two full weeks of employment providing that pay is one from which Union union dues (or equivalent amount) for regular full time employees is also deducted. Otherwise the initial deductions will occur on the pay following. Such deductions shall continue thereafter throughout such a period of temporary employment.
5. It is agreed that the temporary employee’s right to the grievance procedure as outlined in the Collective Agreement will be limited exclusively to working conditions. The total amount deducted in accordance with the foregoing will be remitted by the University, University by cheque, cheque addressed to the Treasurer and made payable to the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 793, by the fifteenth (15) fifteenth day of the month following the month for which the deductions have been made, accompanied by a list of the employees from whose wages deductions have been made. UNION SECURITY AND DUES CHECKOFF. 1. It is agreed that 4.01 All current and any new employees who are now members or hereafter of the Company, will, as a condition of employment, become and remain members of the Union shall maintain their membership in good standing, as provided in the Constitution and By-laws of the Union. All cur- rent employees, who have not already done so, will be required to sign an application for membership and au- thorization for dues check off and initiation fee. The application form will be supplied by the Union to the Company. 4.04 The Company will also provide a statement listing those employees who did not have dues deducted and the reason why no deduction took place.
4.05 In any instance in which an error occurs in the amount of any deduction of dues from an employee’s wages, the Company will adjust it directly with the employ- ee. In the event of any mistake by the University Company in the amount of its remittance to the National Headquarters Union, the Company will adjust the amount within seven (7) days of being notified of the Canadian Union of Public Employeeserror.
6. It is agreed that 4.06 The Company will include on an employee’s T4 slip, the name, current mailing address, and phone number (if provided) total amount of each person who, in accordance with this article, is obligated to pay Union dues (or the equivalent amount) as set paid by the employee for the relevant taxation year.
4.07 The Union will be provided to indemnify the Treasurer Company against any claim or liability arising out of Local 793 immediately upon employment of such person.
