It is understood that consent to leave a post and/or regular duties will be prearranged and will only be sought where necessary to attend at grievance Step meetings, without prior permissiondisciplinary meetings or meetings set by and with the Employer relating to the bargaining unit. Such permission will not be unreasonably withhelddenied. Upon return to regular duties, the Xxxxxxx is required to report back to the immediate Supervisor.
10.05 (e) The necessary time which Union will be responsible for ensuring that there is spent a Xxxxxxx on shift and / or will ensure that a Xxxxxxx is present when required on no less than two (2) hours of notice by Stewards during their regular working hours the affected employee. Such complaint shall be discussed with his immediate supervisor within nine (9) calendar days after the circumstances giving rise to it have occurred or ought reasonably to have come to the attention of the employee and failing settlement within nine (9) calendar days, it shall then be taken up as a grievance within nine ( 9 ) calendar days following advice of his immediate supervisor's decision in the following manner and sequence: The employee may submit a written grievance signed by the employee to his immediate supervisor. The grievance shall identify the nature grievance and the remedy sought and should identify the provisions of the Agreement which are alleged to be violated. The immediate supervisor will deliver his decision in writing within nine (9) calendar days following the day on which the grievance was presented to him. Failing settlement, then: Within nine (9)calendar days following the decision under Step No. the employee may submit the written grievance to his Department Head who will deliver his decision writing within nine (9) calendar days from the date on which the written grievance was presented to him. The parties may, they so desire, meet to discuss the grievance at a time worked.

Both parties recognize the requirement for the full-time Committee Persons herein to leave work during working hours to attend to union business away from Great Blue Heron Charity Casino without loss of pay. (a) The time is devoted to the prompt handling of matters, which are proper pursuant to this Article;
(b) The privilege not be abused;

10.08 5.2 The Company agrees that xxxxxxx will not be permitted to meet with bargaining unit employees during their working time of either the Shop Stewards xxxxxxx or the employee. The xxxxxxx is permitted to meet with employees on the Employer’s premises in the performance of their duties as a xxxxxxx, provide that doing so does not interfere with customers or the Employer’s operations. The Bookshop shall arrange for the xxxxxxx to meet with employees in the Employer’s breakroom. Prior to meeting with an employee, the xxxxxxx must notify their direct supervisor and secure permission to meet with the employee. The xxxxxxx will also promptly notify their supervisor upon their return to work. One xxxxxxx will be paid to attend any Xxxxxxxxxx meeting, or any Employer requested meeting.
5.3 Stewards shall perform all Union Representative business on their own time. Stewards will not be paid by the Employer for performing Union business.
5.4 It is agreed that an employee, upon their request, is entitled to have a xxxxxxx and/or a union representative present during the disciplinary meetings or investigatory interviews where the employee reasonably believes that such investigation will result in disciplinary action. When a xxxxxxx has been requested by management to represent a member, they will be compensated for their time spent representing their member in the disciplinary meeting or investigatory interview. On those occasions when an employee requests the xxxxxxx’x presence for a disciplinary meeting or investigatory interview, the xxxxxxx will be released to attend the meeting and such time will be unpaid.
5.5 All members of the Union’s bargaining team employed by the Employer who are on the clock shall be given release time to attend the full duration of bargaining sessions that take place during regular store hours, including thirty (30) minutes before and after each session for preparation and discussion and any travel time which may post communications from be necessary due to the site of negotiations. Attendance at these meetings are unpaid and are on the Union bargaining team’s own time.
5.6 The Employer shall schedule a total of thirty (30) minutes during a newly hired employee’s training period for the purposes of Union orientation to its members on be held by Union representatives. The
5.7 Shop stewards shall each be allowed up to three (3) days of unpaid time off each calendar year for union business, conferences, seminars, conventions, and training, subject to giving reasonable advance notice of at least two weeks. During their working hours, the Shop Stewards are not entitled to engage in Union activities other than the necessary involvement in the possible reporting of grievances and attending meetings as requested by Management.

Union Stewards. 10.01 a. The Employer recognizes the right of the Union to designate union stewards who shall be permitted without unnecessary delay to devote reasonable periods of time (for example, time to travel to the meeting site, 10-15 minutes to confer with the employee prior to the meeting) during normal working hours to present any grievance to the supervisor or designated representative for which adjustment has been requested by an employee or group of employees.
b. Time off for processing grievances shall be granted to a Union xxxxxxx by supervision following a request but in consideration of any job responsibilities. If permission for time off cannot be immediately granted, the supervisor will arrange for time off at the earliest possible time thereafter.
c.
