Unpaid Leave - Affecting Seniority and Benefits. An employee granted unpaid LOA shall continue to accumulate continuous service with the employer. Any employee granted an unpaid leave of absence totaling up to twenty (20) working days in any calendar year shall continue to accumulate seniority and all benefits. If an unpaid leave of absence or an accumulation of unpaid leave of absence exceeds 20 working days in any calendar year, the employee shall not accumulate seniority or benefits from the 21st day of unpaid leave of absence to the last day of unpaid leave. Seniority shall begin to accumulate upon the employees return to work. Benefits will apply in accordance with the benefit provisions of the agreement.
