Unused Sick Leave. Upon retirement from the City service, or upon a reduction-in-force, an employee shall be paid one-half (2) of his accumulated sick leave with the rate of payment based upon his regular pay at the time he retires or is subject to a reduction-in-force. Upon the death of an employee, his beneficiary shall be paid one-half (2) of the employee=s accumulated sick leave with the rate of payment based upon the employee=s regular pay at the time of the employee=s death. Upon resignation, the employee shall be paid 33% of his accumulated sick leave in cash with the rate of payment based upon his regular pay at the time of separation. All other payments shall be made to the employee=s PEHP premium account as outlined in Article 23, Section 4.
