Unused Sick Leave. Unused sick leave days may be converted into paid group health and hospitalization insurance at the following rate: for each 30 days of unused sick leave up to 300 days, the retired teacher shall be granted one year of School District contribution toward the retired teacher’s group health and hospitalization insurance premium on the same basis (family or single) as at the time of his/her retirement; however, the School District’s contribution shall be limited to no more than $300 per month. Also, payment for any unused sick leave days, less those days converted into insurance, will be placed into the Minnesota State Retirement System Health Care Savings Plan at the rate of $30.00 per day. Payment of this amount shall be in one payment on June 30th following the teacher's retirement.
