Students are responsible for bringing their laptop to all classes, unless specifically advised not to do so by their teacher. ● Laptops must be brought to school each day in a fully charged condition. Students need to charge their laptops each evening. Repeat violations of this policy will result in disciplinary action. ● Students should bring the charger each day. Use the charger during the day to charge the battery when appropriate. ● Only the District approved background and the District screensaver may be used on the laptops. Presence of weapons, pornographic materials, inappropriate language, alcohol, drug, gang-related symbols or pictures would result in disciplinary action. ● Sound must be muted at all times unless permission is obtained from the teacher for instructional purposes. ● Headphones may be used at the teacher’s discretion. ● Printing stations will be available at the school. ● Because of software installed to combat computer viruses, students will likely not be able to print at home. Students should save their work and print their work at school.

Nothing will be backed up in case of “reimaging”. • Students will be provided an electronic drop box for submission of assignments • Students may connect to internet outside of school but must understand they are still using school equipment and the rules and policies still apply. • Students will be given at a home directory in order to back up their work. Students who save work in a different location should be aware that the data will not be backed up in cases of “reimaging” of the laptop. • Students are also encouraged to backup all of their work It is the student’s responsibility to ensure work is not lost due to mechanical failure or accidental deletion. Computer malfunctions are not an acceptable excuse for not submitting work. • PISD makes no guarantee that their network will be up and running 100% of the time. In the rare case that the network is down, the District will not be responsible for lost or missing data.
