Vacation Deficit and Make-Up. If a pilot's vacation credit hour bank balance falls below the credit hour value of his remaining vacation in a calendar year, the following shall apply:

Vacation Accumulation (a) Vacations are not cumulative from year to year.
Vacation Period The choice of vacation periods shall be granted to employees on the basis of seniority with the Employer except where the period requested would be detrimental to the operation of the Employer.
Vacation Leave Accrual After a full-time employee has been in pay status for eighty (80) non-overtime hours in a calendar month, the employee will accrue vacation leave according to the rate schedule below. Vacation leave accrual for part-time employees will be proportionate to the number of hours the part-time employee is in pay status during the month to that required for full-time employment.
Vacation Accrual Regular employees shall accrue hours of vacation with pay for each hour of compensation to a maximum of eighty (80) hours per biweekly work period according to the following schedule, commencing with the employee's hire date of his latest period of County employment.
Vacation Carryover (a) A regular employee may carry over up to 10 days' vacation leave per year. Vacation carryover will not exceed 10 days at any time. An employee will not receive pay in lieu of vacation time, except upon retirement or termination, or as requested by the employee in Clause 18.13 (Vacation Payout).
Elimination Period Benefits commence after the employee has been totally and continuously disabled for fifty-two (52) weeks or has exhausted his weekly indemnity benefits whichever occurs last.
Vacation Postponement 10.5.1 If a bargaining unit employee’s vacation becomes due during a period when he/she is on leave due to illness or injury, he/she may request that his/her vacation date be changed, and the District shall grant such request in accordance with vacation dates available at that time. The employee may elect to have his/her vacation rescheduled in accordance with the vacation schedule available at that time, or may request to carry over his/ her vacation to the following year.
