Vacation Prior to Retirement. Employees are encouraged to provide at least 30 working days’ notice of their intent to retire. The value of any vacation balance due upon separation at retirement shall be deposited into the employees Post-Retirement Health Care Savings Plan, as established in Minn. Stat. §352.98 as administered by the Minnesota State Retirement System
Vacation Prior to Retirement. Employees are encouraged to provide at least 30 working days’ notice of their intent to retire. Effective December 31, 2002 the value of any vacation balance due upon separation at retirement shall be deposited into the employees Post-Retirement Health Care Savings Plan, as established in Minn. Stat. §352.98 as administered by the Minnesota State Retirement System. At the discretion of the Department Head, employees may be allowed to schedule all or part of their unused accumulated vacation and/or compensatory time immediately prior to retirement. The decision to not allow the scheduling of vacation shall not be subject to the grievance procedure but should be based on legitimate business reasons. Employees who are members of the Minneapolis Employee Retirement Fund (MERF) shall not be prevented from scheduling vacations and/or compensatory time prior to retirement, and being able to receive all of the pay and benefits provided by this Agreement.
