VOLUNTARY MEASURES. As described in Section 6.0 of the SHA/CCAA Agreement, Neighboring Landowners and Neighboring Landowner Agreements, habitat management actions and monitoring are not required on neighboring lands. However, some neighboring landowners may wish to voluntarily provide the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) access to their property or voluntarily participate in habitat management actions to further benefit the covered species.
VOLUNTARY MEASURES. When proposing an agreement on voluntary measures to the parents and child, the director must, before reaching an agreement with them, inform them that parents and a child 14 years of age or over have the right to refuse such an agreement. However, he must encourage a child under 14 years of age to adhere to the agreement if the child’s parents accept it.

Any agreement on voluntary measures must contain the measures most appropriate to put an end to and prevent the recurrence of the situation in which the security or development of the child is in danger. The director must refer the child’s situation to the tribunal if no agreement is reached within 10 days and the security or development of the child remains in danger.
VOLUNTARY MEASURES. The Parties will consider and move forward voluntary measures for immediate implementation. Measures may include, but are not limited to: o Multi-benefit land repurposing (e.g., recharge basins, renewable energy including solar, habitat, recreational spaces, pollinator habitat, etc.) o Incentivized land use changes that provide net groundwater benefit o Dry-land farming o Fallowing o Water conservation (focusing on activities to reduce consumptive use and groundwater extraction) o Encouraging use of all available surface water in lieu of groundwater pumping o On-farm best management practices (agronomic practices, soil moisture monitoring and management, delayed irrigation and/or regulated deficit irrigation, runoff capture, etc. to reduce groundwater extraction)
