Witness for a private citizen or for a personal court summons - Any court appearance as a voluntary witness for a private citizen or for a personal court summons shall be with no deduction in salary, provided the unit member elects to use either available personal leave or annual leave. If personal leave or annual leave is exhausted or not elected, the unit member's salary shall be reduced by the per diem rate of the annual salary for each day of absence.
