Witness/Jury Duty. Any employee who is required to be a juror or who is required by any body with powers of subpoena to be a witness shall continue to receive their normal hourly rate up to seventy (70) hours bi-weekly from the Health Unit. The employee shall remit to the Health Unit their cheque for their jury or witness services. In addition: (a) Employees must notify their immediate manager within (1) working day after receipt of notice of selection for jury or witness duty. (b) Any employee called for jury or witness duty and who is temporarily excused from attendance in court, must report for work if a reasonable period of time remains to be worked in the nurse’s shift. (c) Employees must furnish a written statement from the proper public official, showing the date and time to be served.
