Common use of Work on a Holiday Clause in Contracts

Work on a Holiday. Any employee who is required to work on a holiday specified above shall, in addition to receiving regular pay for the holiday, be paid one and one half (1 1/2) times the employee's regular rate of pay for all hours worked or on standby on the holiday.

Work on a Holiday. Any An employee who is required to work works the holiday will be paid for all hours worked on the holiday. In addition, a full-time employee will receive a substitute day off with pay. A part-time employee will receive either pay for the holiday or a substituted day off with pay, at the part-time employee’s option. For all hours worked in excess of eight (8) hours on the day observed as a holiday, the employee will be paid one and one-half (1 ½) times the e mployee’s straight-time rate of pay in addition to the employee’s straight time rate of pay.

Hours worked in excess of eight (8) shall be paid at double time, unless the employee’s regular shift is longer than eight (8) hours in which case the employee shall be compensated at two and one-half (2 1/2) times the regular rate for all such hours worked or in excess of the regular shift. (See Appendix A and B for ten and twelve hour shift pay for work on standby on the a holiday.)

Any employee who is required to work on a holiday specified above shall, in addition to receiving regular pay for the holiday, designated in 9.1 shall be paid one and one one-half (1 1/2) times the employee's their regular rate of pay for all hours worked. All full-time and part-time employees shall also receive holiday benefit pay as described in Section 9.2 for each hour worked or on standby a holiday designated in Section 9.1 up to a maximum of eight (8) hours’ pay. Employees working on the holidaysecond shift on Christmas Eve shall receive time and one-half (1 1/2) the regular rate of pay.
