XXXXXXX AND GENERAL XXXXXXX. When in the Employer's opinion the spread is sufficient to require the services of a Xxxxxxx or General Xxxxxxx, such Xxxxxxx or General Xxxxxxx shall be qualified to supervise such work as may come within the scope of this Agreement, but he shall be a member of the Union. It is understood that a General Xxxxxxx shall have a minimum of two (2) foremen under his supervision.
XXXXXXX AND GENERAL XXXXXXX. When in the Individual Employer's opinion, the job is sufficient to require the services of a Xxxxxxx or General Xxxxxxx, such Xxxxxxx or General Xxxxxxx shall be qualified to supervise such work as may come within the scope of this Agreement, but he or she shall be a member of the Union. It is understood that a General Xxxxxxx shall have a minimum of two (2) foremen under his or her supervision.
XXXXXXX AND GENERAL XXXXXXX. A. To become eligible for compensation as a xxxxxxx or general xxxxxxx accreditation in blueprint reading, layout, 1st Aid/CPR, and ten-hour OSHA certification must be achieved.
a. Whereupon, when two or more employees are employed, one shall be selected by the employer to function as a xxxxxxx, and shall be paid not less than an additional 8% per hour in excess of the base wage rate. Said premium shall be considered part of the base wage rate when it applies. The xxxxxxx is the only representative of the employer who shall issue instructions to employees. There shall be no restrictions on the employment of foremen (pushers). The employer may employ as many foremen (pushers) on any one piece of work as in his judgment is necessary for the economical, expeditious, and safe handling of same.
B. When the employer employs more than three foremen on any job, operation, or project, he shall employ a general xxxxxxx, who shall supervise the foremen in question, and who shall be paid not less than an additional 13% per hour in excess of the base wage rate. The general xxxxxxx will be a non-working supervisor and shall not be responsible for a working gang of men. Said premium shall be considered part of the base wage rate when it applies.
XXXXXXX AND GENERAL XXXXXXX. (a) The xxxxxxx will be selected by and be the representative of the Employer. He will be a working xxxxxxx and will be paid at least $1.00 per hour more than the journeyman base wage.
(b) When there are 2 xxxxxxx, 1 will be lead xxxxxxx and be paid at least $2.00 per hour more than the journeyman base wage.
(c) When there are 3 or more foremen, the general xxxxxxx will be paid at least $3.00 per hour more than the journeyman base wage.
XXXXXXX AND GENERAL XXXXXXX. 1. On any shift where more than one (1) Xxxxxxxxxx is employed on the job, one shall be a Xxxxxxx. On any shift where eleven (11) or more Xxxxxxxxxxx are employed on the job, at least two (2) of them shall be Foremen. For each additional ten (10) Xxxxxxxxxxx, at least one (1) additional Xxxxxxx shall be added.
2. On any shift where more than two (2) Foremen are employed on the job, a General Xxxxxxx shall be required.
3. In sequence of employing Foremen as specified in (a) above, the General Xxxxxxx shall be permitted to be counted as a Xxxxxxx.
4. On any shift where more than five (5) Xxxxxxxxxxx are employed on the job, Foremen shall not be required to work with their tools, but may do so at their own discretion.
5. Foremen and General Xxxxxxx shall be required to maintain membership in the Union in accordance with Article 3 of this Agreement.
6. Xxxxxxxxxx Xxxxxxx and Xxxxxxxxxx General Xxxxxxx shall be selected by and be the only representatives of the Employer who can issue instructions to the Millwrights.
XXXXXXX AND GENERAL XXXXXXX. 111.1 Xxxxxxx in charge shall mean: a qualified journeyman who is elevated by his employer to lay out work and who shall instruct other members in his respective trade.
111.2 General Xxxxxxx and Foremen shall be members of Local 71.
111.3 Position for Superintendent or Area Superintendent shall be offered to members of Local 71 first if such members are qualified for position.
111.4 For Industrial Projects or Industrial Work: One General Xxxxxxx will be responsible for a maximum of three Foremen in their respective trade and will be appointed after three Xxxxxxx have been appointed on any one project.
111.5 On all work coming under the terms of this Agreement, where General Xxxxxxx and Xxxxxxx are employed, it is proper that orders be given in the following sequence: General Xxxxxxx to Xxxxxxx, Xxxxxxx to Journeyman. 202
112.1. A The Union and Management agree that for all purposes of this Agreement, an "apprentice" is a person serving apprenticeship in accordance with the provincial regulations. He shall be a member of Local Union 71; and he shall be paid according to the Act (40, 50, 60, 70 and 80 per cent of the journeyman's rate in successive training periods). Once his prescribed apprenticeship term has been completed and his provincial certificate has been obtained, he is a journeyman in the eyes of both the Union and the Employers.
XXXXXXX AND GENERAL XXXXXXX. A. Foremen Clause for Industrial, Defense, and Highway/Heavy Work as defined in Article 21 of this Agreement:
1. When two or more Carpenters are employed on any one job, one of the Journeyman shall be designated as Xxxxxxx.
2. When there is an employee designated as a Xxxxxxx, he shall be working Xxxxxxx until the fifth (5th) man is employed.
3. A Xxxxxxxxx crew will be ten (10) men and a Xxxxxxx.
X. Xxxxxxx Clause for Commercial Work as defined in Article 21 of this Agreement.
C. The Employer agrees to pay the applicable Xxxxxxx and/or General Xxxxxxx premium for employees performing work commensurate with that of a Xxxxxxx or General Xxxxxxx.
XXXXXXX AND GENERAL XXXXXXX. On jobs where there are five (5) electricians on the job, one electrician shall be designated Xxxxxxx by the Employer and shall receive Xxxxxxx'x pay. The number of General Xxxxxxx shall be left to the discretion of the Contractor; however, a General Xxxxxxx shall be non-working except in emergencies. The General Xxxxxxx may work with the tools when there are not more than four (4) electricians on the job. This will not be construed to prohibit the delivery of materials by the General Xxxxxxx. A Xxxxxxx is a worker who supervises electricians on a single job or contract. A General Xxxxxxx is an electrician who supervises one (l) or more individual jobs or individual Foremen on different jobs. A General xxxxxxx may supervise one (l) or more journeymen on different jobs where there is no Xxxxxxx. A Xxxxxxx shall not supervise over twelve (12) electricians.
XXXXXXX AND GENERAL XXXXXXX. SECTION 1. A journeyman sheet metal worker shall be designated as xxxxxxx on any job having three (3)
XXXXXXX AND GENERAL XXXXXXX. Section 6.01 Where two (2) or more men are employed on a job, one (1) shall be a xxxxxxx and receive a xxxxxxx'x pay.
Section 6.02 Where two (2) or more xxxxxxxxx foremen are employed on a job by one employer, one (1) shall be classed as a General Xxxxxxx. All other Xxxxxxxxx Foremen on the job shall be subordinate to this General Xxxxxxx. Appointment as General Xxxxxxx shall not relieve employee of his duties as a xxxxxxx.
Section 6.03 When not more than two (2) foremen are on a job and the Superintendent is a Xxxxxxxxx, a General Xxxxxxx will not be needed.
