FMLA Leave means a leave of absence, which the Company is required to extend to an Employee under the provisions of the FMLA.
Medical leave means leave of up to a total of 12 workweeks in a 12-month period because of an employee’s own serious health condition that makes the employee unable to work at all or unable to perform any one or more of the essential functions of the position of that employee. The term “essential functions” is defined in Government Code section 12926. “Medical leave” does not include leave taken for an employee’s pregnancy disability, as defined in (n) below, except as specified below in section 11093(c)(1).
Assault means the causing of physical harm to a bargaining unit member by any person when such employee charges such person with an offense prohibited by Ohio Revised Code Chapter 29.
parental bereavement leave means leave under section 80EA of the Employment Rights Act 1996;
Bereavement Leave means "a leave of absence granted to an employee upon a death occurring in the employee's Immediate Family.”
Intermittent Leave means leave taken in separate blocks of time due to a single qualifying reason.
Parental leave means leave to bond and to care for a newborn child after birth or to bond and care for a child after placement for adoption or xxxxxx care, for a period of up to sixteen (16) weeks after the birth or placement.
Family leave means any leave taken by an employee from
Victim of sexual assault means an individual against whom a sexual offense has been committed as described in ORS 163.467 or 163.525; or any other individual designated as a victim of sexual assault by rule adopted under ORS 659A.805.
Sexual assault has the same meaning as in RCW 70.125.030.
Military caregiver leave means leave taken to care for a covered servicemember with a serious injury or illness.
Paid leave means time away from work by an employee for which the employee receives compensation, and is limited to sick time, vacation time, compensatory time and leave that is provided as an aggregate amount for use at the discretion of the employee for any of these same purposes. "Paid leave" does not include paid short-term or long-term disability, catastrophic leave or similar types of benefits.[PL 2005, c. 455, §1 (NEW).]
Pregnancy Leave means leave taken for purposes related to giving birth and/or recovering therefrom.
maternity leave means a period during which a woman is absent from work because she is pregnant or has given birth to a child, and at the end of which she has a right to return to work either under the terms of her contract of employment or under Part 8 of the Employment Rights Act 1996;
Personal Leave means leave provided for:
Workplace Harassment means engaging in a course of vexatious comment or conduct against a worker in a workplace that is known or ought reasonably to be known to be unwelcome”. Ref: Occupational Health and Safety Act, Sec. 1 (1). The employee rights set out above shall be interpreted within the context of the Ontario Human Rights Code. An employee who believes that she has been harassed, contrary to this provision shall be encouraged by both parties to follow the Employer’s policy on harassment and process. Failing resolution, an employee may follow the process set out in the Complaint, Grievance and Arbitration procedure in Article 8 of the Collective Agreement. The employee shall be encouraged by both parties to exhaust these processes prior to filing a complaint with the Ontario Human Rights Commission.
paternity leave means a period of absence from work on leave by virtue of section 80A or 80B of the Employment Rights Act 1996;
Employment Practices Wrongful Act means any actual or alleged:
FMLA means the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993, as amended.
Harassment means engaging in a course of vexatious comment or conduct that is known or ought reasonably to be known to be unwelcome". ref: Ontario Human Rights Code, Sec. 10 (1)
Emotional abuse means behavior that could harm a child's emotional development, such as threatening, intimidating, humiliating, demeaning, criticizing, rejecting, using profane language, or using inappropriate physical restraint.
Sexual harassment means conduct on the basis of sex that satisfies one or more of the following:
Sexual violence means any sexual act or act targeting a person’s sexuality, gender identity or gender expression, whether the act is physical or psychological in nature, that is committed, threatened or attempted against a person without the person’s consent, and includes sexual assault, sexual harassment, stalking, stealthing, indecent exposure, voyeurism and sexual exploitation.
Annual leave and Clause 6.3 “Personal (Sick) Leave” of this Agreement.
Pregnancy means carrying a child, resulting childbirth, miscarriage and non-elective abortion. The Plan considers Pregnancy as a Sickness for the purpose of determining benefits.
Personal harassment means any improper behaviour by a person employed by the Employer that is directed at and offensive to another person employed by the Employer which the first person knew or ought reasonably to have known would be unwelcome. Personal harassment comprises objectionable conduct, comment, act or display that demeans, belittles or causes personal humiliation or embarrassment to the recipient.
