CHECKOFF definition

CHECKOFF. The Employer agrees to deduct initiation fees, union dues, and uniform assessments where lawful, uniformly required as a condition of acquiring or retaining membership in the Union from the wages of each employee, present and future, as the same shall be due, provided each such employee executes written authorization, therefor, in a form authorized by law, and such authorization is turned over to the Employer. The Employer agrees to remit such dues and initiation fees as deducted to the Union. The Union shall, on or before the tenth (10th) day of the same month furnish to the Employer a list of member employees and the amounts due therefor, including dues owing for the succeeding month. The Employer shall, on or before the last day of the same month, deduct and remit such dues as authorized to the Union. In the event no wages are then due the employee, or, are insufficient to cover the required deduction, it shall be the responsibility of the Union to re-submit the amount due on the next regular monthly billing. Once each month the Employer will submit to the Union a list of employees hired the previous month. The list will include the employees’ name, Social Security number, store code, job code and date of hire. Once each week, the Company will deduct from the pay of the employees, who have certified in writing, a political deduction. The Union shall furnish the Company the amounts to be deducted on the regular monthly billing.

CHECKOFF. The Employer agrees to deduct amounts equal to dues, initiation fees and assessments from the wages of all workers who sign a deduction authorization form. The Union's Secretary-Treasurer will certify the amounts. The Employer agrees to deduct amounts owed by workers who return from absences from work due to layoff, sickness, injury or other reason. The Union will notify the Employer in writing of past amounts that returning workers owe.

Examples of CHECKOFF in a sentence

  • The Employer agrees to acquaint new employees with the fact that a Collective Agreement is in effect and with the conditions of employment set out in the articles dealing with Union Security and Dues Check-off.

  • The Employer agrees to acquaint prospective applicants for employment with the fact that a Union agreement is in effect, and with the conditions of employment set out in the Articles dealing with Union Security and Dues Check-off.

  • Political Action Checkoff The Employer agrees to deduct from the pay of each employee from whom it receives an authorization to do so, an amount authorized by the employee for political action.

  • Check-off of Union dues shall be granted only to the exclusive representative for employees covered by this Agreement.

  • The Employer will have new employees sign the Check-off and Union Membership Application upon successful completion of training/orientation.

  • This list shall indicate who is included and who is excluded from Check-off.

  • The Office of Human Capital shall provide each new hire with a Dues Checkoff Card at the time of hire.

  • The Political Action Checkoff Authorization Form shall read as stated in Addendum C.

  • Check 21 means the Check Clearing for the 21st Century Act.

  • Qard means a contract of lending money whereby the borrower is obliged to repay the equivalent amount to lender.

  • Helpdesk Support means the 24x7x365 centre which shall handle Fault reporting, Trouble Ticketing and related enquiries during this contract.

  • Project Management The individuals appointed by each Party cf. clause 4.1 in the Agreement.

  • Panchayat means an institution (by whatever name called) of self-government constituted under article 243B, for the rural areas;

  • Helpdesk means the helpdesk facility provided by GBG to handle enquiries and administration for the Service.

  • Loft means an intermediary floor on a residual space in a pitched roof; above normal floor level with a maximum height of 1.5 metres and which is constructed or adopted for storage purposes;

  • Project Management Report means each report prepared in accordance with Section 4.02 of this Agreement;

  • Façade means the principal front or fronts of a building.

  • Sailboat means the same as that term is defined in Section 73-18-2.

  • Lacquer means a clear or opaque wood coating, including clear lacquer sanding sealers, formulated with cellulosic or synthetic resins to dry by evaporation without chemical reaction and to provide a solid, protective film.

  • LOCKHEED XXXXXX means LOCKHEED XXXXXX CORPORATION, acting through its companies or business units as identified on the face of this Contract. If a subsidiary or affiliate of LOCKHEED XXXXXX CORPORATION is identified on the face of this Contract, then "LOCKHEED XXXXXX" means that subsidiary or affiliate.

  • CBO means a community-based organization;

  • Preschooler means a child age two through four years old.

  • GATS means the General Agreement on Trade in Services in Annex 1B to the WTO Agreement;

  • Seaplane means an aeroplane capable normally of taking off from and alighting solely on water;

  • Print means an object of visual art which is created by any of the following processes:

  • Classroom teacher means a teacher subject to annual performance evaluation review under the provisions of Education Law Section 3012-c.

  • MCERTS means the Environment Agency’s Monitoring Certification Scheme.

  • Construction management at-risk means a project delivery method in which the District awards separate contracts, one for architectural and engineering services to design an infrastructure facility and the second to a construction manager at-risk for both construction of the infrastructure facility according to the design and construction management services.

  • Roomer means a person occupying a dwelling unit that lacks a major bathroom or kitchen facility, in a structure where one or more major facilities are used in common by occupants of the dwelling unit and other dwelling units. Major facility in the case of a bathroom means toilet, or either a bath or shower, and in the case of a kitchen means refrigerator, stove or sink.

  • NOC means National Olympic Committee.
