Drift definition

Drift means the difference between the zero or span responses of the measurement instrument after and before an emissions test.
Drift means the difference between a zero or calibration signal and the respective value reported by a measurement instrument immediately after it was used in an emission test, as long as the instrument was zeroed and spanned just before the test;
Drift means the physical movement of a pesticide through the air at the time of application from the target site to a nontarget site. The term shall not mean the movement of a pesticide, at a time after the application has been made, by any of the following:

Examples of Drift in a sentence

  • Drift and runoff may be hazardous to aquatic organisms in water adjacent to treated areas.

  • Drift and runoff from treated areas may be hazardous to aquatic organisms in neighboring areas.

  • Drift and runoff may be hazardous to aquatic organisms in neighboring areas.

  • Drift control additives may be used with all equipment types, except wiper applicators, sponge bars and CDA equipment.

Drift means the water that escapes to the atmosphere as water droplets from a cooling system.
Drift means the amount of change in analyzer reading over a period of time. Zero drift refers to the change of zero reading. Span drift refers to a change in the reading at a specified span gas calibration point.
Drift means the change of the measured signal over a defined time period for a specific setpoint due to influences such as temperature, pressure, voltage, current, etc.
Drift means the airborne movement of pesticides beyond the target site during application.
Drift means off target movement of a pesticide onto desirable vegetation, waterways, or where human health or the environment may be adversely impacted that occurs as a result of pesticide application.
Drift means the physical movement of pesticide through the air at the time of pesticide application or soon thereafter from the target site to any nontarget or off-target site. Pesticide drift will not include movement of pesticides to nontarget or off-target sites caused by erosion, migration, volatility, or windblown soil particles that occurs after application unless specifically addressed on the pesticide product label with respect to drift control requirements.
