Flex Days definition

Flex Days are scheduled days off in a Reserve line on which a Reserve can be assigned a trip in accordance with Reserve Duty, Section 12.B.3.
Flex Days each bargaining unit member will continue to be able to use any accumulated unused “flex days” allocation as follows:. “Flex days” were previously allocated according to the schedule below. Each employee is granted 1 “Flex day” Each employee is granted 2 “Flex days” Each employee is granted 3 “Flex days” 2011-12 (Effective June 30, 2011) Each employee is granted 1 (one) “flex day” These days shall accumulate and be carried from year to year until the employee determines to use the day(s). Each employee can use accumulated flex days in any of the following ways provided the application and use complies with the procedures and schedule(s) outlined herein. At the employee’s option and upon appropriate application flex days can be: 1.) Converted to and used as a paid leave day (all contractual rules apply) when the employee’s regular contractual paid leave days are exhausted. 2.) Converted to a floating holiday(s) at the employee’s discretion to be used during the school year when students are not in session. Beginning June 30, 2011 each employee can convert up to two (2) of that employee’s accumulated flex days in any one school year into two (2) paid leave days, provided the employee has exhausted his/her contractual paid leave days and the employee’s absence does not entail substitute costs for the employer. These converted days can be used for any purpose that paid leave is allowed under the Master Agreement. Upon an employee’s request the district can allow employees to convert additional accumulated flex days to paid leave time in any school year. Beginning June 30, 2011, employees can with notice to the district business office convert up to two (2) of their “flex days” to floating holidays. These floating holidays can be used when students are not in attendance (including Saturdays and Sundays provided the conversion is at the employee’s regular rate of pay – no premium pay). No employee can convert more than two (2) flex days in any one year without specific approval from the superintendent. Pay for any scheduled floating holiday shall be the employee’s regular hourly rate of pay at the time of use. Any employee who is resigning or retiring from the school system will be allowed to convert any remaining accumulated flex days to floating holidays to be scheduled as floating holidays prior to the employee’s resignation regardless of the, timelines, annual allotment, and standards set here.

Examples of Flex Days in a sentence

  • Vacation and scheduled Flex Days may be re-scheduled as a result of a bereavement leave covered by this policy.

  • If no agreement is reached, or the Reserve fails to call within forty-eight (48) hours of the assignment into such Flex or Golden Day, or the Reserve has no more days of availability in the bid period to be converted into a Golden Day, she/he shall receive pay no credit equal to the value of a Reserve day, i.e., minimum reserve guarantee divided by the number of originally scheduled days in that line that are not Golden or Flex Days, in lieu of the day(s) off.

  • If the Flex Days are grouped with Golden Days, the Flex Days must precede the Golden Days.

  • Eight (8) of such days shall be Golden Days and four (4) shall be Flex Days.

  • Within the same crew base, a Reserve may utilize the ETB to drop, pick up and trade sequences on Flex Days once released from reserve duty into such days off or at the conclusion of her/his RAP prior to a day off, subject to the rest requirements of the FARs, but no less than eight (8) hours and thirty (30) minutes from release to report.

  • Development Day(s) (Flex Days): Professional Development time that is not defined by the District Calendar.

  • As a result of a trade, if one or more Golden Day(s) is placed in front of a Flex Day(s), such Golden Day(s) will be converted to a Flex Day(s) and the original Flex Day will be converted to a Golden Day.

  • Effective Fall 2017, two additional non-student mandatory Flex Days will be added to the academic calendar for credit and non-credit.

  • Contract faculty members are required to attend Mandatory Flex Days and must report absences in accordance with Section 8.2. Faculty may request to complete other activities on the Substitute Activity for Mandatory Flex Day Form (Appendix H, Form B1 or B2).

  • Employees have the ability to take more than three (3) Flex Days per week with Manager approval based on project load.
