Formal Discussion definition

Formal Discussion means a discussion with documentation between a manager or supervisor and employee.
Formal Discussion. A meeting between one or more representatives of the agency and one or more of the employees in the unit or their representatives concerning any grievance or any personnel policy or practice or other general conditions of employment. 5 U.S.C. §7114 (a)(2)(A).

Formal Discussion is a term that is contained and defined within the Federal Service Labor- Management Relations Statute at 5 USC 7114 (a) (2) (A). It refers to meetings between representatives of Employer management and bargaining unit employees in which the topic(s) under discussion includes either "grievances," "personnel policies or practices," or "general conditions of employment."
