Formal Level 1. If a complaint is not resolved in a conference between the affected Employee(s) and his/her immediate Supervisor, the complaint may be formalized as a grievance. It shall be submitted, in writing, within five (5) days of the meeting with the Supervisor and the Employee. A copy of the grievance shall be sent to the Association and the immediate Supervisor. The immediate Supervisor shall, within five (5) days of the receipt of the grievance, render a written decision. A copy of this decision shall be forwarded to the grievant and the president or designee.

More Definitions of Formal Level 1

Formal Level 1. When a cause for complaint occurs, the affected bargaining unit member(s) shall within seven (7) days request a meeting with his/her immediate supervisor in an effort to resolve the complaint. The Union may be notified and a representative thereof present with the bargaining unit member at such meeting. If the bargaining unit member is not satisfied with the result(s) of the meeting, he/she may formalize the complaint in writing as provided hereunder. FORMAL LEVEL 2: If the grievance is not resolved at Level 1 or if no disposition has been made within seven (7) days of receipt of the grievance, the grievance shall be transmitted to the superintendent or designee.
