Natural Support definition

Natural Support means resources and supports (e.g. relatives, friends, significant others, neighbors, roommates, or the community) who are willing to voluntarily provide services to an individual without the expectation of compensation. Natural supports are identified in collaboration with the individual and the potential "natural support". The natural support is required to have the skills, knowledge, and ability to provide the needed services and supports.

Natural Support means the resources available to an individual from their relatives, friends, significant others, neighbors, roommates, and the community. Services provided by natural supports are resources not paid for by the Department or AAA.

Natural Support means unpaid supports that are or may be provided voluntarily to the client in lieu of Waiver or IFS. Any determination of the availability of natural supports includes but is not limited to consideration of the client’s caregiver(s) age, physical and mental health, travel and work or school schedule, responsibility for other dependents, sleep, and ancillary tasks necessary to the health and well-being of the client.
