Research Faculty definition

Research Faculty or “Tenure Track Faculty” means Instructors, Assistant Professors, Associate Professors, and Professors.
Research Faculty means Unit A faculty hired as experienced, independent researchers who have qualifications comparable to those expected of tenurable ranks, but are not tenure track. The appointee is expected to make significant contributions to the research field. He/she is eligible for rank and promotion in titles such as Term Professor, Assistant Research Professor, Associate Research Professor, and Research Professor. He/she is hired and/or appointed on a nontenurable basis based upon available grant funding.
Research Faculty as used in this Agreement means a member 2 of the bargaining unit holding the title of Research Professor, Research 3 Associate Professor or Research Assistant Professor and who is engaged 4 full time in grant supported research or scholarship.

Examples of Research Faculty in a sentence

  • Termination is the only option available for a decision “not to reinstate.” Research Faculty will receive a termination time equal to their rank days as defined under bridge funding.

  • Research Faculty members must hold graduate degrees in appropriate disciplines.

  • However, Research Faculty who held tenure prior to January 1, 2007, shall retain their tenure status.

Related to Research Faculty

  • scientific research means any activity in the field of natural or applied science for the extension of knowledge;

  • Research Use shall have the meaning given in Section 2.2.2 of this Agreement.

  • Collaboration Technology means all Collaboration Patents and Collaboration Know-How.

  • Program Technology means Program Know-How and Program Patents.

  • Basic research means any original investigation for the advancement of scientific or technological knowledge that will enhance the research capacity of this state in a way that increases the ability to attract to or develop companies, jobs, researchers, or students in this state.

  • Collaboration IP means Collaboration Know-How and Collaboration Patents.

  • Commercialization or “Commercialize” means activities directed to marketing, promoting, research and development as required, manufacturing for sale, offering for sale, distributing, importing or selling a product, including sub-licensing or sub-contracting of these activities.

  • Licensed Program means the executable processing programs of licensed information, which is composed of various modules in the Licensed Software package provided by the Licensor.

  • Research facility means buildings and structures, including machinery and equipment, used or to be used primarily for research or experimentation to improve or develop new tangible goods or materials or to improve or develop the production processes thereto.

  • Development Data means all non-clinical, clinical, technical, chemical, safety, and scientific data and information and other results, including relevant laboratory notebook information, screening data, and synthesis schemes, including descriptions in any form, data and other information, in each case, that is generated by or resulting from or in connection with the conduct of Development of Products.

  • Collaborator An individual who is not under the direct supervision of the PI (e.g., not a member of the PI’s laboratory) who assists with the PI’s research project involving controlled-access data subject to the NIH GDS Policy. Internal collaborators are employees of the Requester and work at the same location/campus as the PI. External collaborators are not employees of the Requester and/or do not work at the same location as the PI, and consequently must be independently approved to access controlled-access data subject to the NIH GDS Policy.

  • SAP Technology Solution(s means SAP NetWeaver Foundation for Third Party Applications, SAP Business Technology Platform (excluding when used solely as a Connectivity App between an SAP Application and ERP), SAP Signavio Solutions and SAP Process Insights (including any renamed, prior and/or successor versions of any of the foregoing made generally available by SAP if any but excluding when any of the foregoing are used as a User Interface for ERP.

  • Research Period means the research period as described in the Commissioned Research Plan. In accordance with the provisions of this Agreement, in the event that the Agreement ended prior to the completion date of the research originally set, the date the Agreement ends shall be read as the research period.
