Resident Medical Officer definition

Resident Medical Officer means a registered medical practitioner employed as a Resident Medical Officer in the second or subsequent years of relevant experience following graduation.
Resident Medical Officer. (RMO) means a house officer, senior house officer, registrar or junior dental officer and shall include any medical officer registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act (or any act passed in substitution) except medical practitioners registered under the vocational scope of practice.
Resident Medical Officer means a registered medical practitioner employed as a resident medical officer by a teaching hospital and in the second or subsequent years of relevant experience following graduation.

  • Each Resident Medical Officer and Registrar shall work in accordance with a duty roster to be drawn up at least four weeks in advance.

  • A Resident Medical Officer who works so much overtime between the termination of their ordinary work on one day and the beginning of their ordinary work on the next day that they have not at least 8 consecutive hours off duty between those times may, subject to clause 6.13 be released after completion of such overtime until they have had 8 consecutive hours off duty without loss of pay for ordinary working time occurring during such absence.

  • A Resident Medical Officer performing overtime on recall on Saturday or Sunday or public holidays may be paid for such overtime at the appropriate rate with a minimum of 2 hours or at their option be granted time off equivalent to the number of hours worked, with a minimum of 2 hours.

Promotion to the position of Senior Medical Practitioner shall be by appointment only. ‘Senior Registrar’ means a registered medical practitioner who is either appointed as a Senior Registrar, or a registrar who has obtained an appropriate specialist qualification acceptable to the AMC or equivalent recognised by the Employer. ‘Sessional’ refers to an arrangement whereby a Caregiver is engaged in terms of numbers of ‘sessions’, i.e. periods of four hours. Where a Caregiver has been employed as “sessional” they shall be considered to be employed part-time with an equivalent number of contracted hours. ‘SJG’ refers to St Xxxx of God ‘Supervised Medical Officer’ means a registered non-specialist medical practitioner requiring clinical supervision by a Consultant / Specialist or Senior Medical Practitioner. ‘Trainee Medical Administrator’ means a registered medical practitioner appointed to a recognised Medical Administration training position and enrolled in the Royal Australian College of Medical Administrators training program.
