Student record definition

Student record means information that constitutes education rec- ords as that term is defined by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (20 U.S.C. Section 1232g(a)(4)) [see FL] and information in a record of an applicant for admission to an educa- tional institution, including a transfer applicant.
Student record means any item of information directly related to an identifiable student, other than directory information, which is maintained by the school district or required to be maintained by an employee in the performance of his/her duties whether recorded by handwriting, print, computer media, video or audio tape, film, microfilm and microfiche. Student records include information relative to an individual student gathered within or without the school system and maintained within the school district, regardless of the physical form in which it is maintained. Any information which is maintained for the purpose of review by a second party is considered a student record.
Student record means any information directly related to a student that is maintained by the Board or any information acquired from a student through the use of educational software assigned to the student by a teacher or employee of the Board, except student record does not include de-identified student information allowed under the contract to be used by the consultant or operator to:

  • Student record information may be provided to vendors to enable them to respond to a sealed bid invitation or to a request for proposals, or to perform under a contract already awarded to them.

More Definitions of Student record

Student record means any item of information gathered within or outside the District that is directly related to an identifiable student.
Student record means information related to an individual student gathered within or outside the school district and maintained within the school district, regardless of the physical form in which it is maintained. Essential in this definition is the idea that any information that is maintained for the purpose of second-party review is considered a student record. Therefore, information recorded by certified school personnel solely as a memory aid and not for the use of a second party is excluded from this definition. In the absence of any “information related to an individual student,” the document(s) no longer meets the definition of “student record.”
Student record means a record of information relating to an individual’s activity in or interaction with the University as a student. Such records may contain personal information related to the student’s interactions with the University. The information may be maintained in any format, including printed, audio, visual, electronic, magnetic and may be stored on any medium including paper, fiche, tape, disk or other electronic or magnetic medium. Student records are normally of three types: files, transactions, and listings, as follows:
Student record means, in the case of a school, as defined in sub.(1) (e) (intro.), a transcript for a student or former student of a school showing the name of the student, the title of the pro- gram in which the student was or is enrolled, the total number of credits or hours of instruction completed by the student, the dates of enrollment, the grade for each course, lesson, or unit of instruc- tion completed by the student, the student’s cumulative grade for the program, and an explanation of the school’s credit and grading system. In the case of a school described in sub. (1) (e) 1., 6., 7., or 8., “student record” means a transcript for a student or former student of the school showing such information about the aca- demic work completed by the student or former student as is cus- tomarily maintained by the school.
