Tier 2 definition

Tier 2 means the portion of the design- related information contained in the generic DCD that is approved but not certified by this appendix (Tier 2 information). Compli- ance with Tier 2 is required, but generic changes to and plant-specific departures from Tier 2 are governed by Section VIII of this appendix. Compliance with Tier 2 pro- vides a sufficient, but not the only accept- able, method for complying with Tier 1. Compliance methods differing from Tier 2 must satisfy the change process in Section VIII of this appendix. Regardless of these dif- ferences, an applicant or licensee must meet the requirement in Section III.B of this ap- pendix to reference Tier 2 when referencing Tier 1. Tier 2 information includes:
Tier 2. Wire Centers are those Embarq Wire Centers that are not Tier 1 Wire Centers but contain at least three (3) Fiber-based Collocators, at least 24,000 Business Lines, or both. Once a Wire Center is determined to be a Tier 2 Wire Center, that Wire Center is not subject to later reclassification as a Tier 3 Wire Center.
Tier 2 means the retirement plan established pursuant to section 401(k) of the internal revenue code that is available to qualified participants under sections 50 to 69.

Examples of Tier 2 in a sentence

  • The range of accountabilities minimally covers hardware and software planning, vendor selection, acquisition, Tier 2 problem resolution, set-up, integration, testing and installation.

  • Provides Tier 2 support to IT users for basic software and hardware of end-user computing and desktop-based LAN systems.

  • Provides technical support and guidance through Tier 2 support and works with vendors to resolve Tier 3 issues.


More Definitions of Tier 2

Tier 2 means the portion of the Tier 2 information, designated as such in the ge- neric DCD, which is subject to the change process in Section VIII.B.6 of this appendix. This designation expires for some Tier 2* in- formation under Section VIII.B.6.
Tier 2 means the state of Michigan 457 plan established under section 457 of the internal revenue code, 26 USC 457, for elective employee contributions and the state of Michigan 401(k) plan established under section 401(k) of the internal revenue code, 26 USC 401, for employer contributions.
Tier 2 means the portion of the Tier 2 information, designated as such in the generic DCD, which is subject to the change process in paragraph VIII.B.6 of this appendix. This designation expires for some Tier 2* information under paragraph VIII.B.6.
Tier 2 means an area that is not a Tier 1 area or a Tier 3 area.
Tier 2 means groundwater consumed in excess of the Tier 1 Penalty Allocation.
Tier 2 means the retirement plan established pursuant to the internal revenue code that is available to qualified participants under sections 61 to 80.
